About this deal

If Sam does not sabotage Mayflower, Tom takes him to San Diego as promised with the firepower of Mayflower at his command. If Sam sabotages Mayflower, the submarine explodes and sinks, killing both Ed and Tom. Sam remains in Vladivostok but is happy knowing nobody can use the nuclear weapons Mayflower was carrying and resolves to find another way to return home.

We've already taken a deep look at Metro Exodus Enhanced Edition on PC and were genuinely impressed with its phenomenal ray tracing - perhaps not surprising when the new 4A Engine is built from the ground up with hardware-accelerated RT hardware in mind. However, the question we could not answer at the time was simple enough: how does that experience translate to the new wave of consoles? Is there enough horsepower on tap to deliver a state-of-the-art 60fps ray tracing showcase? We've now had the chance to test the game on both Xbox Series X and Series S hardware - and the results are excellent. Odd that there's no mention of the ray tracing here, it's not used for reflections but is used for the entire global illumination implementation and makes a huge difference in making every scene look more natural then any other console game out there. That coupled with 60fps makes for a great experience, I'm a few hours in and absolutely loving it so far Perhaps many have already completed the game, but I'm waiting for them to fix it, I can't play with this problem ... Comparison photos included are from Digital Foundry’s breakdown comparing Metro Exodus on both Xbox One X and Xbox Series X.Current: Metro Exodus Review (PS5) – A Gritty Post-Apocalypse Gets Better With Stunning Visual Enhancements And Immersive Features Hall, Nicole (11 January 2021). In the desert wasteland section, it gets more interesting because it introduces a car and zip-line traversal. Making those moments of exploring enemy hideouts more compelling to want to get to, rather than just sprinting to the next main mission.

On the PlayStation 5, Metro Exodus looks like a very impressive Xbox 360 game, except running at 4K 60FPS. It is not a bad thing, but you can tell this is a bit budget compared to a Sony-level game. Thankfully, it makes up for it by sending you on a journey that takes you to some interesting places with some being linear and some being kind of open world. There’s a lot to write home about when talking about the first two Metro games. Both 2033 and Last Light are profoundly exceptional examples of survival games that succeed at building a believable world in a science-fiction setting while crushing the player under the weight of an incredibly oppressive atmosphere. Exodus does infrequently recapture the magic in a handful of wonderful set pieces, but the game, unfortunately, crumbles under the weight of its own ambition too often during its runtime.

Although I did heap a bit of praise on Metro Exodus when it was originally released for its beautiful baked-in lighting, projected into the game world by light sources that are placed in there by design. This enhanced edition makes use of the new machine’s grunt and offers more realistic light bounce regardless of its source and the game is better for it, with the already top-drawer textures now further standing out with more natural illumination. The silent protagonist thing is not it for me and the enemy AI is pretty bad. Its a shame cus i want to get into it.

Bad air isn’t the only thing that the group have to worry about in Metro Exodus, however. There are mutants, cannibals, violent religious extremists, and many other colourful people that want to kill them. Their destination isn’t close either, but they find themselves a fully functioning train and that gets them going. A final area of the game worth discussing is the sound design. At this point, it is worth noting that I played the game whilst wearing the official PS5 Pulse 3D headset. The result of this being that I am unsure exactly whether the praise should lie with the game or the technology. With this in mind, the combination of the headset and the new hardware resulted in some of the best sound effects and design I have experienced in a game in recent times.

The Definitive Version Of One Of The Best Explorable Wastelands

Both of these features really heighten the beauty of the world and models that 4A Games have created. A Metro world has never looked better and seeing the light bounce off of surfaces and really accentuate the amazing atmosphere, gives you the feeling of immersion that couldn’t have been achieved on PS4. I'd still play the other 2 though given the choice. The "Redux" remasters on PS4 are great! Last Light is a decent game, but I LOVE 2033! One of my all-time favs! Chalk, Andy (13 January 2020). The other big announcement is that the Metro Exodus next-gen upgrade for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S will be available starting June 18, free for existing owners. This comes as part of the Complete Edition, which boasts 4K/60fps gameplay with ray-tracing available for lighting on PS5 and Xbox Series X (but not Series S). The upgrades apply to the base game and its expansions. Players can also expect better load times and more.

The Spartans detour to the heavily-irradiated city of Novosibirsk, the closest location where an antidote may be found. Despite the risk, Miller and Artyom head into the city alone to search for the antidote. They enter the Novosibirsk Metro and find a young boy named Kirill, the last Novosibirsk survivor, who explains his father left on a mission to obtain a map marking a clean, habitable area. Miller and Artyom split up; Miller goes to find the map and Artyom searches for the antidote. Artyom finds the antidote but a mutant gravely wounds him and he absorbs a heavy dose of radiation. Artyom, Miller, and Kirill return to the train with the map and the antidote; on the return journey, Miller uses a dose of anti-radiation serum meant for himself to save Artyom, and dies of radiation poisoning. The rest of the Spartans donate blood to give Artyom a critical transfusion. Anna is cured with the antidote and with the map, the Spartans settle on the shores of Lake Baikal, which is free from radiation. Really love the series, looking forward to this. Final thoughts on Metro Exodus on the PlayStation 5

zimbogamer My thinking is that's tied to the frame rate too. I think they might have tweaked aiming acceleration so you can aim side to side/top to bottom more smoothly now cuz they didn't want it to look out of place while the game was running at 30FPS (well sub 30 in the case of the PS4 version haha) Metro Exodus is strikingly beautiful a lot of the time. The environmental artists deserve a serious raise because, despite serving up a number of different locales beyond the regular nuclear winter, Exodus never disappoints. The draw distance is sumptuous and the lighting is phenomenal, though it’s a game that looks best when it’s bleak. When the sun shows up, the textures can at times appear a little murky, which might make you welcome the rendering issues that can occur after re-loads, but this is a minor gripe. Character models have never been a strength of 4A Games and this effort is no exception, though they’ve got to the next level with the monstrous distortions that hound you in the wild. Some of it is actually nightmare fuel. Horti, Samuel (14 February 2019). "Metro Exodus weapons guide". PC Gamer. Archived from the original on 22 June 2023 . Retrieved 22 June 2023.
