Medijel Mouth Ulcer Gel offers fast and effective relief for common mouth ulcers, sore gums and denture rubbing. This medicine should not be used if you are allergic to any of its ingredients. Please inform your doctor or pharmacist if you have previously experienced such an allergy. Side effects from using Medijel gel are unlikely. If you think your mouth ulcer has got worse, is not healing, or you get any new ulcers while using this medicine, you should stop using it and ask your pharmacist for advice. Pain is caused by the stimulation of pain receptors at the ends of nerves. The stimulation causes sodium to enter the nerve ending, which causes an electrical signal to build up in the nerve. Medijel soft pastilles contain two active ingredients, lidocaine hydrochloride and aminoacridine hydrochloride. If symptoms persist longer than 7 days following the use of the product a doctor or dentist should be consulted. Wash your hands before and after applying the gel. Apply a pea-sized amount of the gel to the sore area of the mouth with a clean fingertip. You can repeat this after three hours if needed. Don't apply it more than six times in 24 hours.
