About this deal

Before starting, just install the free smartphone screen sharing application “Mirroring OA for KENWOOD” on your Android smartphone and connect it to the KENWOOD receiver via Bluetooth and a USB cable. (Compatible phone required). Do not keep the Apple Lightning to USB Cable (accessory of the iPod/iPhone) in the car to avoid damage by heat. So basically what I need to find out, is why the Carplay icon is greyed out. I don't want to have to connect the cable each time, this does work, but this is the latest wireless unit, so I want to use that option.

USB Mirroring for Android allows you to display and control your Android smartphone on the receiver screen via USB. You can enjoy your favorite apps on a large display with impressive sound quality. Before starting True Mirroring, just install the free app “ Mirroring for KENWOOD” on your smartphone and connect it to the receiver via Bluetooth as well as a USB cable. Connect the unit and iPod /iPhone with listed KENWOOD accessory iPod cable and the Apple Lightning - 30 pin adapter.

This KENWOOD unit comes equipped with built-in Bluetooth technology to enable hands-free calling allowing you to make and receive calls. Music streaming to play music, podcasts, or any other audio content from your smartphone and all this without physically holding your phone. The unit support voice commands, allowing you to perform actions without touching your phone. You can initiate calls, play music or perform other tasks just by speaking voice commands and keeping your hands on the steering wheel where they belong and concentrate on the road ahead. Active 3-Way X'over Mode for advanced sound system building by separating the audio signal into different frequency band, via Low Pass Filter, Band Pass Filter & High Pass Filter, and direct them to the appropriate speakers or drivers via power amplifier(s). There's not a lot going against the Kenwood DMX8020DABS. There are cheaper options, but you kind of get what you pay for. Not only does it do pretty much everything you could possibly want from an aftermarket infotainment system, you can also rest easy in the knowledge that Kenwood is one of the biggest names in automotive audio tech. When the DNPS function of the center unit is operated, system will restrict title selection or other functions of the iPod for ten seconds. (Will resume in ten seconds.)

The 13 band EQ and digital sound processor allows you to fine tune your music to get the best from your speakers and cabin acoustics, it even has digital time alignment so you can get the setup just perfect. Connect the unit and iPod /iPhone with listed KENWOOD accessory iPod cable, HDMI cable and the Apple Lightning Digital AV Adapter. I think I remember reading somewhere that Google themselves are going to make this happen in a future AA update. So, ultimately, yes you should buy a Kenwood DMX8020DABS. It's an easy way of getting modern infotainment into an old car and no, there aren't really any catches. It looks the part, is easy to operate and is well worth the investment. Connect the unit and iPod /iPhone with listed KENWOOD HDMI cable and the Apple Lightning Digital AV Adapter, Lightning to USB Cable (accessory of the iPod/iPhone). Sorry, to be clear I believe the last I saw Samsung had fixed the One UI issue, so you ought to be ok now. Wireless AA does use a fair chunk of power especially if you're navigating, so don't bin that USB cable just yet If anyone knows of other customisation options (like disabling the warning message) let me know! Has anyone else done this mod?

Best of all, it will bring your car bang up to date with access to the very latest in smartphone connectivity. Which is the smartest choice to go with your phone? How we tested them Also...this has a capacitive touch screen am I right? Currently have a Pioneer unit with a resistive touch screen which isn't great if I'm honest. The Kenwood screens do seem superior. Personally, I do think if the off the shelf head units currently don't do this, I think it will be a simple software update in the future. Wireless Mirroring is a groundbreaking solution for seamlessly displaying and controlling your smartphone apps on the receivers’ large screen without cables. The feature is available on compatible Android phones. Some features, applications and services are not available in every region. In regards to "is the Pixel 4 compatible" with your unit or the Unit i would like to buy....I don't know !! Pioneer’s contender looks great value, especially considering its power and sound quality. As on the winning Kenwood there are no separate buttons, and it’s controlled via the touchscreen, which gives it a really clean and modern look. High-Resolution Audio is high-quality sound that far exceeds CD standards and can play 192kHz / 24bit audio files. It captures and beautifully expresses details and nuances from the ultra-high to low frequencies. High-Resolution Audio Capturing all the details, from your favorite artists’ every breath, to the complex soundscape that surrounds them.
