About this deal

The set was assigned Class 2 due to its unnecessary bevel and glossy finish as well as a poor choice of font. When teaching measurement, I use many non-standard units, such as cubes, to illustrate how long, tall, wide something is. Students use the cubes to compare and measure with the cubes around the classroom (i.e., my arm is 20 cubes long). Using the magnetic numbers, we embarked on a journey of learning and discovery. Emma was able to physically manipulate the numbers, arranging them in various sequences and patterns. The tactile experience brought the abstract world of numbers to life for her. With each interaction, her confidence grew, and her number recognition skills flourished.

A color scheme exists for this set; Odd numbers are in red and blue and even numbers are in yellow-green and orange. Number lines are important for many number concepts, such as counting, sequencing, and number recognition. Students can be taught how to solve addition and subtraction problems by jumping up or down the number line. Provide students with a number line, such as these personal number lines. Use a large number line to display on a bulletin board for class demonstrations. A human number line can be created on the floor with tape and used for practice and games, like the Human Number Line Game explained here. This is the only magnetic numeral set that 6 and 9 use different molds. The mold for 9 has a straight line, while 6's mold is curved. Classes three and four are the "typical" sets of numbers you can find, which they are just "there" and don't stand out in any shape or form. The only difference between the classes are that class four sets tend to have better quality and aesthetics.White and cyan magnetic numbers are in fact quite rare, as not many manufacturers and companies have chosen those colors for their numbers and letters. It is my only set of magnetic numbers to contain those colors. These durable and brightly coloured magnetic numbers can also be used for sensory play activities and are a great addition to any of our Play Makes Sense Maths Activity Cards. Sometimes, symbols ( + − × ÷ = {\displaystyle +-\times \div =} etc.) are included along with the numbers. They count in the corresponding numeral set (without mentioning that symbols are included). They are counted (and sometimes stored) separately. Visible sprue marks are present on some of the pieces, which could be potentially harmful to children, as well as making the product aesthetically unpleasing. This is my only set of magnetic letters with sharp corners (i.e. the letters have no rounded corners). This change of mind return policy is in addition to, and does not affect your rights under the Australian Consumer Law including any rights you may have in respect of faulty items.Quality of the numerals are good, however the digit "9" could not stand up despite the set's intention for every numeral to be able to stand up. However this may just be a molding issue. Three unidentified wooden numeral and letter sets (named Set W3, Set W4 and Set W5 here) have been obtained between 2020 and 2021. All colors are fixed. Class sixes are sill valuable and rare, but not in comparison to class 7 sets. It is also the highest class obtainable by an alphabet set. Shape counters are fun to use in a math center for little learners. Encourage them to sort the shapes by color, size, type, and create different patterns with them. They are also great for teaching beginning addition and subtraction (i.e., I have five bears, and I take one bear away). Shape counters come in many fun shapes, such as bear counters, animal counters, bug counters, and transportation counters.

While teacher supply stores have excellent quality math manipulatives, they are often expensive. If you can get your school to fund your classroom supply, then go this route. Lakeshore Learning has endless types and varieties of manipulatives and wonderful games that would fulfill your needs. SET OF 36 MAGNETIC PIECES: Set includes 30 numbers and 6 operation symbols in 6 colors and plastic storage tub The Windmill Books "Food" magnetic numbers and uppercase letters were obtained in late 2020 also as an attempt to replicate the Megcos magnetic numerals (see above), as well as to boost the magnetic collection. 90 numerals (9 each), 72 letters (8 A's, 4 E's, G's, I's, O's, S's and U's, and 2 of the rest) and 21 symbols (3 of each: plus, minus, times, division, equals, long bar and long division sign) were obtained. Math manipulatives make math FUN! Children of all ages enjoy using these concrete tools to make sense of the problems they are given. They mainly help younger learners who are learning new math concepts for the first time. A relationship is built when children see how to solve problems and given opportunities to “try” something using math manipulatives. With repeated practice and “play” with manipulatives, math fluency develops.Math manipulatives are small objects that help with teaching math. They are useful tools for teachers and students. They provide a hands-on way in which to explore and learn. When children are using these materials in natural ways, they are learning differently than they are when they are only listening or watching a lesson. This tactile learning builds a more profound, personal understanding of math concepts.
