As a kit, it takes a fairly easy few hours to assemble. Its print quality tops that of many 3D printers in its price range. Its main flaw is that, as with many printers limited to manual bed-leveling, getting and keeping the print bed properly calibrated can be a headache. If you print the first few layers more slowly, you give the liquid filament more time to bind to the substrate. The slower you print the first layers, the better the print bed adhesion will be. A good value is about half the normal print speed. As the Neo name implies, there are plenty of new features here. There’s automatic bed leveling courtesy of Creality’s CR Touch system, a full-metal Bowden extruder, and a flexible PC spring steel magnetic build plate. Redesigned extruder - makes feeding filament easier since you can disengage the extruder gear to load filament without continually holding the extruder lever. The extruder also has a more closed filament path, making it easier to use with flexibles. However, a direct drive extruder is still a better alternative for any flexible filament.
The out-of-box experience with the Creality printers is another strong point in their favor. We started with 3D printing in the days when you had to assemble a printer from a kit and spend days calibrating it to get acceptable prints. Those days are behind us. In our experience, it takes less than an hour to set up a new Creality printer and do the basic calibration steps before trying a test print. These printers work out of the box with very little calibration, which will allow you to get great print quality without spending all of your free time making adjustments.
