The Dell Ultrasharp 34 Curved USB-C monitor is definitely a pretty piece of technology with the sleek design in line with Dell’s UltraSharp line of monitors. It features a cure radius of 1900r and WQHD 3440 x 1440 native resolution. The thin bezel along the outside is a feature I find really nice. It’s about as seamless as possible with the display.
Subjectively, the image looks fantastic, with rich, bold colours and great uniformity across the entire panel. There’s very little evidence of light leakage and, being and IPS panel, wide viewing angles. The Self-Extracting window is displayed and prompts you to extract to C:\Dell\Drivers\(SWB ID). Write down this path so the executable file can be found later.And you may think you can buy two decent curved screens with the same (or more) resolution than a single U3419W. But while that’s true, if you want a single screen and no annoying bezels interrupting your desktop, then an ultrawide is the answer. Some combinations of DP-to-HDMI dongle and video or graphics card (GPU) do not support YCbCr color format. The monitor comes with a full motion stand that tilts, swivels, and moves up and down with ease. Although, the base is pretty large and not well suited to small skinny desks but there are other stand options available. Organizationally, the keyhole through the center manages cords nicely. Visible on the bottom right corner the monitor also has four navigation buttons to control the display and built in menus and a power button. The biggest upgrade the Dell U3419W received is in its I/O layout which now includes USB-C connectivity. The latter can provide up to 90 Watts of charging power, making this monitor ideal for high-spec variants of USB-C laptops like the MacBook Pro. There’s no noticeable ghosting, and for most games outside of first-person-shooters, the response time and refresh rate will be perfectly adequate.
