The U2412m uses an E-IPS panel, which provides it a wider-than-TN viewing angle that fails to match viewing angles seen on higher-end IPS panels. Out of-box measurements show that Dell’s monitor has fairly good color characteristics in the Standard preset. Ensure that the video cable connecting the monitor and the computer is properly connected and secure. Some computers have both USB 3.0, USB 2.0 and USB 1.1 ports. Ensure that the correct USB port is used. Our tests revealed that U2412M performs like most mid-range IPS monitors. The bright and mid-intensity colors are reproduced almost flawlessly. The darker end of the color gradient gave us some bands, but nothing serious. Actually, compared to U2410 performance on U2412M is remarkable similar. U2410 has marginally better color gradation in the semi-dark areas but on the other hand U2412M distinguishes the darkest grey tones better.
