About this deal

Choose from convenient delivery formats to get the training you and your team need - where, when and how you want it. In today’s world where the role of the business analyst is being challenged like never before, this book is just what we need to ground us. We are business analysts and this highly recommended fourth edition reminds us of who we are, what we do and what we can achieve. The book, coming form the British Computer Society does have a heavy accent on IT's usage in Business Change. Whilst that may be appropriate for traditional BA type roles I do think more focus should be on transformational business change and understanding organisations from a systems perspective. This accredited Business Analysis Foundation certification course 4th edition will enable you to get international recognition through the British Computer Society and IIBA.

In today's world where the role of the business analyst is being challenged like never before, this book is just what we need to ground us. We are business analysts and this highly recommended 4th edition reminds us of who we are, what we do and what we can achieve. This chapter has now been renamed the business analysis service framework instead of the business analysis process model. This is reflected in the fact that the ‘business analysis process model has now been dispensed with and replaced by the BASF model (as defined before). There is now a new section covering the T shaped business analyst that fits in just before the competencies of the business analyst. Business analysis has become one of today’s hottest subjects, a real link between a firm’s information technology and business objectives, skilled business analysts contribute to the profitability of companies large and small, in most every industry. Business Analyst training will help you find opportunities in our rapidly changing world, by preparing you with the skills modern companies need to remain competitive. A readable and engaging journey through the business change lifecycle, the business analysis services and the toolkit required of a proficient business analyst The inclusion of ‘T-shaping’ will be of interest to both practitioners and teams that are considering future skills development. Specifically highlighting systems thinking, service thinking and design thinking provides a useful steer for those of us looking to develop and hone our skills further and bring in ideas from adjacent disciplines. A number of additional practical techniques have been included too, including the business model canvas, value stream mapping and customer journey mapping to name just a few.

Business Analysis by Debra Paul, James Cadle | Waterstones

Business analysis was something I simply did, rather than thinking of it as a profession; that was until I went to the launch of the first edition of Business Analysis. As the profession of business analysis continues to evolve and adapt to a changing environment, I’m delighted that this 4th edition continues to lead the way. It remains the ‘go-to’ book and most important guide for professional business analysts. Indispensable and invaluable. Within the business process improvement you have such activities as ‘model existing processes’, ‘define required processes’, ‘identify gaps between processes’, ‘analyse gaps between processes’, ‘identify and analyse business process measures’, ‘identify actions’ and ‘ensure alignment with IT and processes’. This Foundation course will enable you to get International recognition through the British Computer Society and IIBA, and you will be supported during your online training by experienced BA trainers until you are ready to take the online BA Foundation Exam. Thousands of students from all over the world have taken our online accredited BA Foundation course, you can take it in your own time, and the animation, voice and exercises keep it interesting and flowing. You may qualify for a year’s free BCS Associate Membership

This is a re-read of the book almost a year after my previous read. It has given me a nice chance to reflect and relate the usage of concepts in the book to my actual day to day activities at work. I am happy with the progress I have made in the past year, and, as always, there is scope for improvement.
