About this deal

Sloane and Lucian are really well-rounded characters. Sloane’s relatability is endearing, and I couldn’t help but root for her aspirations of building a family. Lucian, despite his occasional exasperating moments, is a character I couldn’t help but look up to. Their rollercoaster of a relationship had me on the edge of my seat throughout! Maybe I was building up their relationship and feelings for one another in the past as more than they actually were but I can’t believe they let things fester for so long. This is a story about two people who were best friends as kids but then became bitter rivals. The initial chapters were written in a way that was too dramatic for my taste. However, I eventually came to care about Sloan and Lucian’s history together and their subsequent breakup. When things heat up, the tale really takes off. Lucian becomes the alpha male in his quest to defend Sloan from those who would harm her because of her work. The plot and the friendship group are both appealing. The best friends of Sloan and Lucian, who were the protagonists of the preceding volumes, are also couples. They’re the story’s confidantes and boosters, and they help keep things light. I didn’t rate this book as high as the first books in the Things We Never Got Over series because certain aspects of the story just didn’t jive with me. So maybe it’s a “me, not you thing.” At the Men of Letters bunker, Dean is watching The Three Stooges on a laptop laughing very hard, obviously faking it. Sam comes and joins in, giving Dean a grilled cheese sandwich, with Dean enjoying it a little too much. Sam looks over at the Mark of Cain and it looks like it's only gotten worse, but Dean continues to enjoy the video despite this. Similar to how he's dealt with pain before, he tries very hard to hide it from his little brother.

Her friend group may let her get away with it since the ladies were recent additions to the group, but her parents? I would have thought they would have intervened a bit more than they did.One woman alone held the key to my freedom. If I had to ask Sloane Walton for something, I would rather light myself on fire.

At this point, the book is still being written but I feel like this is just enough to get you excited and hopefully, hold you over until the cover is released. This is a snippet of a scene in which the best book boyfriends: Nash, Knox, and Lucian are talking about Sloane. What does this mean? It means Sloane and Lucian are gonna see each other more than they bargained for. If only they could control the way they ACTUALLY want each other 👀 I think the aspect that really kept me from rating it higher is the ultimate reason for Sloane and Lucian to be at odds with one another for OVER TWENTY YEARS. I mean, these are smart individuals with self-awareness, and yes, the incident that happened was very important but they couldn’t have a conversation about it or work it through in twenty years? Lucian Rollins is a lean, mean vengeance-seeking mogul. On a quest to erase his father’s mark on the family name, he spends every waking minute pulling strings and building an indestructible empire. The more money and power he amasses, the safer he is from threats. The author’s writing style is engaging and evocative, immersing readers in the small-town setting and allowing them to experience the characters’ emotions firsthand. The dialogue is sharp and filled with tension, creating an authentic portrayal of the characters’ complex relationship. Score expertly balances steamy romance with heartfelt moments, giving the story depth and substance.Let’s go see who it is,” I told Amara. We arrived in time to see my mother-in-law, Karen, stroll through the door with my mother, their boyfriends, and their suitcases. I was still withholding judgment on both men. Even though the barrel-chested Max, who charmed Karen through salsa dancing, and the Purple Heart recipient veteran José looked at my mother as if she’d given birth to the sun, the moon, and everything in between, I wasn’t ready to trust either of them any further than I could throw them. A twitch of fur caught my eye, and I spotted Meow Meow hidden behind the drapes in the front window. Crowley: She was a horrible mother. Did I tell you the time she almost traded me for 3 pigs? Three! I was an attractive child, I could juggle. That's worth 5 pigs at least. Lucy Score has dazzled romance fans with her Things We Left Behind series and the third and final book, Things We Left Behind, is finally out! I couldn’t wait for Sloane and Lucian’s story and I’m sharing all my thoughts in my Things We Left Behind review below. Lucian Rollins is a lean, mean vengeance-seeking mogul. Determined to erase his abusive father’s mark on his family name, he spends every waking minute pulling strings and building his empire. The more money and power he gains, the safer he feels.

The story follows Sloane, a woman whose father recently passed away. His death has reminded Sloane that she is approaching forty without fulfilling her dreams of a family, and there aren't any prospects on the horizon. Though there are plenty of nice guys in town, the only one who makes her blood heat is Lucian, the bane of Sloane's existence. Now that their friends are coupled up, they've been spending more time together - and it's a constant reminder of the things that tore them apart. Sloane and Lucian have been guarding the secrets of their past for the last two decades, and now that's finally catching up with them. They can't stand to be in the same room together, but they can't seem to stay away from each other either, no matter how much they'd like to. Unfortunately, the death of Sloane's father has brought a few things to light... and Sloane will never be able to look at Lucian the same way again. Sam and Dean take Castiel to a bar and buy him whiskey, trying to make him feel better. He then goes into how he never really knew his father, and asks Sam and Dean if they loved their father. They did, and Dean goes into a story of how he and Sam and John went to New York one time and enjoyed the sights of the city. Then Dean had sneaked away from them and went to CBGB where he got completely drunk for the first time, being way underage at the time. John then shows up, and when he says "Dean Winchester", everyone around Dean is suddenly afraid of him. Even a boy with a safety pin through his nose and a "Kill Everything" tattoo says to John, "Sorry, Sir". Dean yelled at him for embarrassing him and tells John he hates him. But John responds, "Son, you don't like me? That's fine. It's not my job to be liked. It's my job to raise you right." Sam and Dean agreeing that he did. Sloane Walton: A fiery and determined small-town librarian, Sloane is on a quest for justice and carries the weight of a dark secret. Her strong-willed personality and deep-seated dislike for Lucian create a dynamic and tension-filled relationship. Storyline Score creates the perfect level of suspense and intrigue to heighten the overall emotions of the story. She includes several of my favorite tropes, including friends to enemies to lovers, second chance romance, and touch-her-&-become-unalive* vibes. The humor is off the charts, but so is the heart, and they are so perfectly blended and seamlessly integrated, I was ugly crying one moment and snort-laughing the next. The story is stunning in its depth. Quite simply, it is intensely hilarious and gutterally emotional. And the steam. Holy cow! I knew Suit Daddy was gonna be off the chain steamy, but woah! Sloane, my friend, you are one seriously fortunate lady! I could use words like chemistry, connection, etc, but they're not even remotely adequate to describe the intricate levels of storytelling and relationships woven into TWLB.Dean recalls that as a teenager, he ran away to CBGB "where the Ramones and Blondie got their start." I laughed. I cried. I giggled. I swooned. I sideeyed. I facepalmed. I frowned. I rolled my eyes. I smiled. And I melted. Said the rich guy who literally showers me with gifts on a daily basis. Do you think you can handle your anniversary present?” Claire is about to rob a convenience store when Castiel stops her and brings her outside to Sam and Dean. She tells them she remembers who they are, and tells Castiel that he can go to hell because he caused her father's death. She points a gun at him, but he tells her it won't hurt him, so she points it at Sam and Dean. Then says she doesn't believe Castiel is sorry for what happened, but just feels guilty, and runs away from them again. Lucien was the man we had all waited on , or at least I had and so so worth the wait , it wasn’t just for the woman that had him firmly denying he had any thoughts or feelings about but his memories of the life he thought he had firmly left behind , which included” that woman” Sloan.
