I force a grin up at Mom. “I’m sure we will. Hit it off. Mason and I can’t wait to spend time with the Hunts this week.” Mom glances at her delicate gold watch. “Austin and Ted— Theo—were scheduled to land a few minutes after we did. Can you see them anywhere, hon?” This book was a bit of a meh to me. It didn’t have anything too crazy, again the standard plot based around university friendships spilling over to the professional world. I do have to admit the twist at the end was something I did not see coming which caught me by surprise. Shattering record after record over the course of its six seasons, the breakout hit launched its young actors to superstardom, most notably Liv Latimer and Ransom Joel, whose fictional counterparts were on-screen sweethearts. The success of the pop culture juggernaut remains unmatched by any teen drama. Fans and critics alike have to wonder: Will the world finally get the answers they’ve begged for in this reunion special?

I don’t know.” I turn to Dad. “I couldn’t get on the network inside the airport, either. Were they on JetBlue?” Emily had been friends with Will, Lyla, & Henry, three rich popular students & had become part of their world for a time, or so she thought. What happened to her though, showed her that they were never really her friends & now the perfect time has come to take her revenge. All three will be there this weekend & Emily's going to unmask them for what they really are. My main issue was that we got to spend very little time with Ransom and Liv as a couple. I love knowing how a

Rounded down from roughly 4.5 stars ⭐️ this was my first book by Polly Phillips but I will definitely be grabbing her debut now! You can either find my head buried in my Kindle, listening to inspiring heart ripping music or typing away on the computer twisting and turning the lives of my characters while driving my readers crazy with anticipation.

I’m all for women not being victims/doormats and if there is one thing that Polly does superbly is create great female characters. Whether they are good or bad you can’t help but like them. Lyla was glorious in all her abysmal glory and I was longing for her comeuppance. Thomas can get a bit ponderous along the way -- well, you know: "In my search for Vinca, I was also -- perhaps especially -- investigating himself". As it turns out, all it takes is a single spark to flare embers and ashes into something wild and blazing.Much suspicion on dubious characters and basically being lead down many paths, keeping the reader on their toes. If I was home, I’d be skiing with Jay right now. Unfortunately, my dream of spending break with my boyfriend of nearly six months evaporated into sunshine and salt air as soon as Dad announced this trip—a reunion for the Mayweather clan, culminating in an engagement party for Dad and Elizabeth on the final night. My attendance was mandatory. So why did it not get five stars? Simply because throughout the first 98% of the book, there was suspense, and the only thing stopping me from reading more was the need to get up to work the following day. The last 2% were somewhat disappointing, and anticipation I had plummeted. At university she gets in with a crowd of wealthy and entitled students and ends up dating one of them. Then the 'bad thing' happens and her world falls apart.. Fast forward to present day and Emily is attending a reunion and knows that all those responsible for her trauma will be there.

We should have been at the hotel by now,” Mason grumbles. He drops my phone into my lap, letting my book catch it. “I should be on the beach.” Then an invitation to the 15th anniversary Cambridge University reunion provides the perfect opportunity for Emily to exact revenge for what happened to her – her anger has not dimmed with the passing of time and now she’s hell bent on bringing down those who she felt were the “architects of her downfall” – she wants someone to pay for what they have done. I really loved the premise of this story! The drama and intrigue of having a second chance romance set in Hollywood? Yeah - that sounded like messiness tenfold.Several characters do very, very bad things -- as in kill people -- or are convinced they have done bad things, and get off with nothing more than a guilty conscience; one person who winds up in prison is not one who belongs there (for that crime -- though the person certainly has some behavior to answer for over the decades) while those that are guilty as sin pay in more basic ways -- or just get away with.

Phillips includes the toxic male culture in universities and how the privileged use family money to cover indiscretions. I really enjoy Meghan's writing style and look forward to when I can get my hands on another one of her books. We have multiple POVs that I found fun to read, but it is hard getting everyone straight. 6 POVs! Holy hell. This book reminds me a bit of my queen Elin Hilderbrand’s writing (I am thinking of Beautiful Day), which is always a good thing in my book. Problematic, however, is how many of the characters lash out unthinkingly, almost at the drop of a hat, acting out impulsively. When two former teen stars reconnect at the reunion for their hit TV show, they discover their feelings for one another were not merely scripted in this charming and heartwarming novel perfect for fans of Christina Lauren and Sally Thorne.Thoughts: This was a fun second chance Hollywood love story with fun celeb gossip articles sprinkled throughout that help to move the story along. I loved seeing behinds the curtain and all the little, intricate moving parts that work together to create both a hit tv show and the reunion that follows. Among the discoveries Thomas makes is that the woman who has been pining for him all these years -- who was also on campus that fateful December night --, a former classmate who is now head of cardiology at the local hospital, Fanny Brahimi, has been carrying her own terrible burden with her all these years. The Reunion by Meghan Quinn is a standalone contemporary romance novel that is on the humorous side. The story in The Reunion is told by changing the point of view between multiple characters in the book to give each of their perspectives through multiple relationships forming.
