About this deal

The publishers sued Luc Besson, director of The Fifth Element (1997), claiming that the film borrowed graphic and story elements from The Incal, but lost their case. [2] [26] [35] In an interview given to Chilean newspaper The Clinic, Jodorowsky claimed that neither he nor Moebius actually sued Besson, but instead that the lawsuit was filed by the editor of the comic series. He further claimed that the case was lost because Moebius "betrayed them" by working directly with Besson on the production of the film. [36] In a 2002 interview with the Danish comic book magazine Strip!, Jodorowsky considered it an honour that somebody stole his ideas. In comics, The Incal launched the Jodoverse, which includes titles such as The Metabarons and Megalex. Waititi could conceivably have a hand guiding the Jodoverse in both film and television. Russell: I see that as the editor's job, to make sure I don't stray too far from the path because left on my own, I will be all over the place. But I wanted to do something that was more true to the spirit of The Incal than to the letter of the canon. I do feel like what kept me from going too far afield from the original story was the fact that [Psychoverse] does actually merge into the original Incal at some point. Aristocrats Are Evil: Averted with the Emperoress, more-or-less played straight with pretty much everyone else.

Religion of Evil: The Techno-Technos (short for the Techno-Technocracy, formally the Church of Industrial Saints) after they start worshiping the Darkness. They are a more neutral Corrupt Church otherwise. One of the most impressive achievements in the comic book medium and science-fiction + fantasy literature. Despite its ambition and complexity, it is also one of the best places to start with both artist Moebius' comic books and author Alejandro Jodorowsky's output. Nrama: Were there any other stories or creators whose work you pulled from as inspiration for Psychoverse?

Regarding the coloring, when Isabelle Beaumenay-Joannet was working in the 3rd and 4th issue, she didn't receive many instructions from Moebius once she had done her first issue. According to Isabelle, Moebius didn't talk about colors, he discribed things in terms of enviroment (he once talked about "vaginal enviroments"), light and atmosphere, like a filmmaker. to The Fool trump, his surname being a play on words. Deepo also mimics the dog which always accompanies The Fool, and which symbolizes John’s animal spirit. The Fool, like John, represents chaos, infinite possibility and the beginning of a journey. Originally published in installments between 1980 and 1988 in the French magazine Métal Hurlant, and followed by Before the Incal (1988–1995, with Zoran Janjetov), After the Incal (2000, with Jean Giraud), and Final Incal (2008–2014, with José Ladrönn), [9] [10] it has been described as a contender for "the best comic book" in the medium's history. [11] From it came spin-off series Metabarons, The Technopriests, and Megalex. On the planet Ter21 there are two social classes: the fortunate (common and aristocrats), who reside at the top, and the others (including the mutants led by Gorgo the Foul, who represent the poor living in misery, on the fringes of society, minorities of all kinds [10]), who live down in the pits. At the top, it's a near- panopticonical dystopia with standard TV program (with the same presenter Diavaloo) depicting filmed violence for public consumption, and indoctrination. Seemingly no one works anymore, and all life is mediated through the TriD (TV), even people's dreams. [21] People are addicted to "love drug" amorine, while the president is engaged in repeated body transplants. [7] The masculine role is ridiculed by mass-produced holographic prostitutes. [22] The technopriests represent the most damning, avaricious human drives. [15]
