About this deal

Weighing in at only 2.5kg with an ergonomic design for comfortable and easy hedge cutting our electric hedge trimmer enables you to cut in any position with minimal effort. As we stated earlier, one of the primary advantages of the Trueshopping gardening tool is its cordless nature. You don’t have to deal with regular maintenance, cables or limited telescopic reach. However, if you buy this long reach pole trimmer , that’s all you’re going to get. If you push the boat out on a cordless trimmer that comes with a battery and charger, you’ve got more options down the line. For example, if you buy the Ryobi trimmer, you can then buy their other “bare” tools for not a lot of money. When there are more than 70 different tools to choose from, the options are impressive. Well known for making well designed and balanced outdoor equipment, Bosch offers another exceptional hedge trimmer that’s a part of 18V series. Means, you can use its battery with all other Bosch 18V tools.

The pole saw was just as impressive. In fact, it functioned even better than some of the dedicated pole saws that I recently reviewed. This is largely due to its high-quality chain – it has an amazing grip that enables it to slice through both hardwood and softwood with ease. Thanks for taking your time to read our review on the Terratek 20V cordless hedge trimmer. This is an 20 Volt cordless hedge trimmer from the well known Terratek brand. For anyone who is looking for a budget-friendly hedge trimmer that doesn’t scrimp on features, I would highly recommend this model. While you might think that its lesser cost means that it won’t function quite as well, you would be surprisingly mistaken. The Terratek 20V Cordless Electric Hedge Trimmer is everything you could want in a hedge trimmer, and then some. Using the tool, you can cut even the longest of hedges without using any ladder or any other helping device. Weighing only 3.5 kg, the Terratek cutting tool is an ideal solution for awkward hedges.

This trimmer is sold with a compatible 20V battery and charger so you won't have to buy them seperately. With this particular model you actually get two batteries and this makes a big difference for me. You can have one on charge while you are working and there is never any time wasted, waiting for a battery to charge up. Similarly to the Ryobi hedge trimmer, this Bosch Pole Hedge Trimmer has a battery that is interchangeable amongst other POWER FOR ALL products. What sets it apart from Ryobi, however, is that the POWER FOR ALL battery system isn’t exclusive to Bosch. You can power a whole host of great tool brands, all with just the one battery type.Reach aside, I was very pleased with the power behind this machine. You get about 45 minutes of runtime with a 2.0aH battery, which is actually pretty impressive! Even better, this isn’t an overly noisy machine either – it’s ideal if you need to trim a hedge that’s in close proximity to your neighbours. Trimming head: It’s better to choose a telescopic brush cutter with a pivoted head so that you can cut the stems and branches at multiple angles. One further thing to consider when buying a telescopic hedge trimmer is how small it compacts down. Most telescopic trimmers, even when not extended, can still be quite long (somewhere in the region of 170 cm). Choose a battery-powered pole hedge trimmer for convenience – there’s no cable and you can go anywhere in the garden. Most battery-powered trimmers have sufficient power to handle standard garden hedges. Look for a battery life of at least 30 minutes.

A hedge trimmer can be powered by either petrol or batteries (in the case of a cordless hedge trimmer). There are pros and cons to each, and then there are mains-powered trimmers as well, which have their own benefits and disadvantages. The hedge sweeper attachment makes the head feel even heavier when the extension pole is being used, making manoeuvring the tool harder Overall, DEWALT DCHT895B is a useful tool that has improved ergonomics and provides optimum performance utilizing its brushless motor, dual reciprocal blades and articulating head. As its name implies, this multi-purpose tool comes with both a hedge trimming head and a pole saw head. When the extension pole has been fitted, they provide a maximum reach of 2.1m and 2.4m respectively. Both attachments are high-quality – the hedge trimmer boasts a 51cm laser cut blade and 7 cutting head positions, while the pole saw comes with a 20cm Greenworks bar and chain. Although a secondary D-handle hasn’t been provided, Greenworks makes up for that by providing an adjustable shoulder strap – you can fix it to any point on the pole to give you the balance that you need when holding it.

Bergman tries to make its tool easy to use by adding a grip that offers improved comfort as well as stability and an adjustable shoulder strap that distributes its weight for better balance. Most long reach hedge trimmers also allow you to adjust the ‘head’ of the trimmer to change the cutting angle. I used a 2.5aH battery with this hedge trimmer, which allowed me to work for 30 minutes. Just like most of the other cordless hedge trimmers that I tested, this battery was an 18V, yet the machine still felt more powerful than some of the others. I love how the battery has an LCD screen that displays the percentage of battery life left – it’s definitely more high-tech than the competition! It’s also quieter than some of the other hedge trimmers out there – ideal if you’re using it in close proximity to your neighbours.

This is how long the hedge trimmer itself extends to, but their ‘range’ includes the length of your own arm on top of that. What’s more, the ergonomic design has an ingenious feature where pulling a lever allows you to rotate the blade by twisting around the top handle. You can keep adjusting the position as you trim each side of the hedge, or work along the top, to match what feels most comfortable to you. Even with a heavy battery attached – we tested using Kärcher’s 18V, 5Ah unit – it’s a very easy trimmer to work with, and that battery kept going for nearly an hour and still had enough puff left to swap into a Kärcher garden vacuum and sweep up some of the clippings. The 2.5Ah battery that’s supplied with the standard kit should still be good for 40 minutes or more of work. Our next recommendation from Terratek has a powerful 550W motor and a 10-meter power cable. However, the most interesting feature is a telescopic pole that you can extend up to 2.7 meters. Due to this trimmer’s one-piece folding body and ultralight frame, I’ve reached for it more than the rest for any odd jobs around the garden. This may make them harder to use for more ‘everyday’ hedge trimming, when the extension isn’t required. So, either look for a manageable ‘un-extended’ length, or consider having a separate trimmer for close-range jobs. Battery Life Once the height of your hedges reaches above 7ft or so, keeping the top neatly clipped can be a nightmare. Not so with an extendable trimmer like this Einhell, as the 40cm blade sits on the end of a telescopic pole that can stretch to 1.7m, meaning you can reach the top of a 2m or even 3m hedge without having to get on a ladder. What’s more, the head pivots, so you can have it straight for trimming the side of the hedge, then switch to a right angle once it’s time to cut the top down to size. It uses the same Power X-Change batteries and chargers as other cordless Einhell tools, with the basic 2.5Ah battery lasting for around 30 to 35 minutes before needing a recharge. Using a 4.0Ah battery that we borrowed from a cordless mower, we were able to get close to an hour. One of the most outstanding things about this hedge trimmer is that it will charge in as little as one hour thanks to the fast charge feature. The charger is included in the box so there’s no additional outlay.
