About this deal

Any time you are practicing magic, whether that is casting an enchantment or making a formulation of many spells, you are practicing spell work.

The world building was fun, though as another review stated I did feel it was slightly too similar to the rules and regulations for mediating myths & magic, but I loved those books so it didn't totally bother me.This is my second read from FT Lukens, and I LOVED this one. Spell Bound was such a fun YA read! I really loved the shenanigans that we get to see early on in the book between the two pairs of masters and apprentices, and how they differed in their approach. While the blurb does end up revealing something that happens at about the post-50% mark, I did feel like the buildup made it kind of obvious that it was going to happen, so it worked out fine. I didn't feel much chemistry between Rook and Sun but we were nudged at it by all of the other adults in the book and I just didn't see it. I desperately wanted to. Sun was shy and standoffish and Rook was like this one is mine based on literally nothing. They were ghosting Rook when the bulk of the drama unfolded and only broke that based on necessity.

These are all essential basics of spellcasting and work to help witches of all skill levels reach their full potential. 11. Witchcraft: A Handbook of Magic Spells and Potions VIEW PRICE Aside from the spells, the book also describes many ways to cast your spells, how to make incense cones, botanical infusions, and various rituals. The thing is, this approach generally works. Cindy and Alex aren't the most deep characters ever, but we do get to see their struggles. The writing here is pretty good and especially with them, we get these little moments that work. The highlights come from there. I have issues with where this goes, but the reveal did catch me off guard. It gets into magic and it's pretty interesting, with the villain being wild in how they came to be. There's good setup and payoff and somewhat of a good twist ending too. Think about a cookbook but then full of spells instead of recipes with beautiful illustrations. That’s exactly what this spell book is, an easy-to-use and browse reference book, or as the name already suggests an encyclopedia. This was just such a joy to read and the road, the whole way through seems to be filled with obstacles for each MC alone, the MCs together, and the side characters to not only endure, but overcome! And that they do!The moon is a powerful force that can be used to your advantage. If you are interested in harnessing this power to benefit yourself and those around you, this book is an excellent option for you.

I can’t recommend Spell Bound enough! If you love queer fantasy stories with fun magic systems, you absolutely have to read it. Cindy and Alex are siblings caught up in a twisted tale that spans the continents. Their friendships, relationships, and even their personal beliefs are challenged, changed, destroyed, and grown throughout this book.

Overall, a solid read and another great entry into the F.T. Lukens catalogue. I didn't love it quite as much as their other works, but it was still great and a fun use of my time. Hocus Pocus book of spells Leather Journal Book of Shadows , Wiccan Pagan, winifred sanderson, gift for him Her Halloween fall gifts I thought I read all of Christopher Pike's books when I was younger but I missed this one somehow. It was kind of a dud. Flat characters who had weird inner voices for teenagers. A few questions/points:

This spell book is one of a three-book collection that was written with newcomers in mind. It has a full description of each of the fourteen candle spells, thirteen crystal spells, and thirteen herb spells. This information is invaluable, especially to anyone brand-new to spells and spellcasting. 14. Garden Spells: A Novel VIEW PRICE There’s so much more to love in this book. The rep was excellent and it’s found family trope all over. And the discussion about keeping people out of the community and gatekeepers was so good. That there’s no right way to be magic, just like there’s no right way to be neurodivergent or queer. This spell book not only describes what kind of instruments you need for your craft and how to cast the spell but also gives an accurate history of each spell, allowing you to learn the roots of each one as you cast it. This makes it an excellent spell book for beginners. That aside, these characters felt younger than the other FT Lukens books I've read which may be untrue but they felt younger maturity wise as well. I was certain that Rook's grandmother bound his magical abilities (based on the title of the book) when Sun mentioned that they could see the magic lines flowing through him. That ended up being a red herring and a missed opportunity.Rook and Sun were absolutely adorable and I love a good grumpy/sunshine moment. I really enjoyed that the majority of the book was about them getting to know one another and tentatively becoming friends rather than jumping right in and forcing something where it wouldn't have worked. The novel offers a lighthearted and entertaining way for one to become acquainted with witchcraft. 15. Wiccan Spells: A Book of Shadows for Wiccans, Witches, and Practitioners VIEW PRICE
