About this deal

The Bare+ device is light-weight but feels solid and well-made. It’s the smallest device I’ve tested and the shape fits perfectly in my palm. It feels very good to hold. Before you start SmoothSkin Bare has been clinically tested in the UK, where it delivered up to a 92% hair reduction after just 4 weeks of treatment. After experiencing the full treatment, 91% of trialists said they would recommend to others. That’s not to say the lower levels don’t work. They do. But, studies show they can take longer to get to smooth. And then more regular sessions to stay that way versus using a higher, but still safe, intensity level. The ‘feather light’ setting is practically pointless, I couldn’t feel a thing from the flash and knew it would not work.

I am over the moon with the results. The hair that grew on my toes has totally gone the hair on my legs is considerably finer and more sparse. Highly recommend Use shaving cream for a close shave. Try using hair conditioner – it does the job (but can leave the tub a bit slippery!) After this, bald patches eventually appear and gradually get bigger until you’ve large smooth patches of skin. Keep going even if you’re smooth and complete the recommended 12 sessions. This zaps all your hairs whilst they’re actively growing and gives you your longest lasting results from the start. Using the latest technology, SmoothSkin Bare offers unlimited flashes, so you don’t have to worry about running out during treatment. Even the underside of the sleeve has more information. It claims your legs, underarms and bikini line ‘are done and dusted’ in under 10 mins. There’s also a brief overview of ‘Your first treatment’ and ‘Staying smooth’ with regular use.

The face didn’t work too well for me. I would dread every session as the following days my skin would break out with lots of aggressive white spots. I put this down to a combination of having to shave, and the subsequent use of laser on these sensitive areas. For Glide, keep the button pressed and slide it over your skin at a consistent speed to cover each position in time with the flashes. This little cutie from Smoothskin is super simple and fast to use. That's because it has one low IPL intensity level, so it's straighforward with only the flash button to press.

Switch to Glide Mode for continuous flashes as you work over large areas or Stamp Mode for small areas like bikini. After your treatments, you should cover up and use a sunscreen of SPF 15+ to avoid unprotected sun exposure The compact, curvy shape is simple and ergonomic. And the size is perfect. It’s slightly fatter in the middle so the curves give a secure and natural grip. It’s very handy and I can change grips without help from my other hand. Left: Grip #1 for legs, tummy & bikini. Right: Grip #2 for face & underarms TIP: The latest model – Smoothskin Bare+ Fit – comes with a smaller precision window. It slips over the fixed window, and creates a smaller opening which is easier to position and flash on more awkward areas. If you’re over 40, you’ll know what I mean. This WILL work on those stubborn hairs (as long as they’re not white) but ooh, shaving first? I can’t do it.The Bare+ is very fast. To start the flashes come fast and you can simply glide the device over your skin. However, after a minute or so as the Bare+ heats up, and so the flashes slow down. It’s still fast and personally I don’t mind that because I find the pace ideal to concentrate and get good, accurate coverage. And you’re done before you can get bored or tired anyway. My bikini area is quite dark yet I am able to do the whole thing with such ease. The flash is far more powerful with 5 different options for strength settings in comparison to 2 on the Smoothskin Muse.
