About this deal

With unforgettable stories about his rise to fame, his biggest regrets and his special bond with his beloved mum, The decade that changed my future is as warm and honest, enormously entertaining and full of surprises as its brilliant Sunday Times bestselling author. Rylan, 33, previously opened up about his ill health last year following the breakdown of his marriage. Takes approximately 1-3 working days to arrive, (but can take longer during busy periods like bank holidays or Pride Month)

He has obviously gone through a hard time separating from his husband, although it sounds like he is better off without him in his life, and I hope he finds the happiness he deserves! Possibly cathartic for Ross/Rylan to have written it is difficult to read at times but I don't doubt it was far harder to have lived through. We got a bit of juicy gossip but not as much as I hoped, but I understand Rylan had a previous book where maybe he exposed more secrets of his time in the house? I can’t say from this I am keen to read part 2 of Rylan’s life , but it was an enjoyable enough light read (listen). He tried to come across as someone relatable and yet I couldn't fathom that whilst he talks about his and his mum's mansions. Yes, he's worked hard to be where he is now and I applaud him for that but once you're able to build your dream house and buy your mum a house, you have to realise that you lose some of that relatability to non-famous people.Rylan then went on to claim that while his family thought he was just suffering from heartbreak – he knew it was far more serious. That chapter was really difficult. There was a chapter I wrote that was the angry chapter, the chapter that had nothing in and the chapter that was enough but not enough as real as it could be. I'm no big Reality show fan (though did watch the early Big Brother series') and most of my exposure to Rylan has been through Eurovision. I'd started a few books recently and just not been able to get into any, so this was an ideal easy Kindle Daily Deal read. But Rylan comes across as a nice guy who’s been through some shit recently with the breakdown of his marriage. I think he has a bit more healing to do and I think he might have written this too soon. I love a memoir that goes behind what I’ve seen but in a different way (in this case, Big Brother, X Factor) and he certainly shares the gossip. He does a lot of name dropping and parts I feel like he thinks he can do no wrong but that’s not a criticism, it’s positive affirmation like that that will help him through the bad times. RYLAN Clark has opened up about why he cheated on his husband, which led to their split and his subsequent suicide attempt.

I'm not really sure where to start with this book, there were bits that were very good and there were bits that were not. The book is centred around the breakdown of Rylan's/Ross' marriage and the subsequent impact this had on him and these parts are well written and impactful but other areas of the book fell short. He added: “I remember thinking, ‘Do I look that ill? Am I that bad?’ It was just awful. They stayed with me all that day.” Rylan on Eamonn and Ruth

I'd have liked it to be less superficial, the chapter where he talked about politics (although not giving any opinion of his own due to BBC commitments) was interesting and showed a deeper side to him that I would have liked to have seen more of throughout the book. I would also like to have read more about his time in the Big Brother house as I felt that chapter skimmed over his own experiences a little. Really really enjoyed this book. I mean what’s not to like…it’s Rylan ! He was my bedtime pleasure and kept me awake as he lay next to me garrulously chatting away about his life. I didn’t want to put him down.
