The narration was definitely one of the best I have heard. It was three narrators and done in a style like a play or script read through. Where multiple narrators are used within each chapter. I like it this way so much more than when a book is in single or dual POV and one narrator does the entire chapter or book. In “Ruthless Creatures” (Queens & Monsters Book 1), the storyline revolves around Natalie, a middle school art teacher, whose fiancé disappeared five years ago. The book takes the reader on an intense journey as Natalie is thrust into a dangerous mafia world. The author, J.T. Geissinger, does a fantastic job of creating compelling characters and plot elements that keep the reader engaged. I liked the first half but I skimmed through some of the second half because it started to get boring and I wanted more from the characters and the storyline. However, “Ruthless Creatures” didn’t live up to my expectations. It is definitely not bad and you should definitely read it but it is not great, either. It didn’t have a wow effect on me, like most of JT’s books did. It was a solid 3,5 stars for me but not 4.

This book has a wrong title. It should be titled Dirty Talk with Assassin or something. Cause the dirty talk in the bedroom is off the chart. Hot, sexy and funny. And Miss Geissinger gives us so much more of her signature banter.Although you told me you’re not a good man, I don’t believe that’s true. But even if it is, even if you are a bad man, then you’re the best bad man I’ve ever known.” The main reason for 4* instead of 5 is the h. On 2 occasions she made speeches to the H claiming ride or die status. She knew he wasn't a good guy but she claimed she was allin, for me if you're ALL in you've gotta be all in! The hell was all that hand wringing constantly seeking support from her bestie bullshit was that? She floundered too much for a woman I expected to rise up to be a boss bitch. I'm not a fan of the cliched slutty best friend, I don't like manwhores noe the female equivalent so Sloane isn't the type of h I gravitate too BUT she was the type of h that Kage deserved. A badass that rolled with the punches! Her responses to the varied crises were hilarious but definitely what I hoped for from the h.

I can't wait for our 'Ice Queen' Sloane's book!

Kage makes her feel and want things she’s never desired before. Even knowing the danger and cost involved, Natalie’s all in. She'll worry about the fallout later... Kage, on the other hand, a part of the dangerous Russian mafia world, emerges as an enigmatic, intense, and irresistible presence. The intriguing balance between his dark and lurid choices and the tender emotions he harbors for Natalie fuels the character development. I lived for glimpses of Sloane in all her sassy, maneater glory. I love a female that owns her sexuality and is not one to settle. I can't wait to meet the man to bring her to her knees. But I digress.
