About this deal

In "Reminders of Him," several emotionally charged and pivotal scenes capture the readers' attention and leave a lasting impact. One hot scene that stands out is the climactic confrontation between Kenna Rowan and the individuals keeping her away from her daughter. Kenna’s transformation from “Nicole” to Kenna reflects her emotional journey throughout the novel as she learns to accept and love herself despite her past mistakes. Initially, she creates a new identity to distance herself from her past and the judgment of others. However, as she begins to forgive herself and take responsibility for her actions, she sheds the “Nicole” persona and embraces her true identity once again. There is something so compelling about seeing real, flawed characters put into impossible situations and then watching them grow, adapt, learn to be better people, and Colleen Hoover’s new novel spins that very premise into a powerful tale of redemption, forgiveness, love, and the lengths to which a mother will go to be part of her child’s life. Told with piercing prose and savage honesty, Hoover’s every word is designed to have an effect, and it truly takes a writer at the top of her game to deliver a story that has so many jagged edges, yet leaves the reader feeling uplifted and changed—once they can see through the tears again. I know from experience that if you’re going to grow up with an imperfect mother, it’s better to grow up knowing your imperfect mother is fighting for you than to grow up knowing she doesn’t give a shit about you. Reminders of Him" is predominantly narrated from Kenna Rowan's perspective, allowing readers to experience her struggles, hopes, and growth intimately. The first-person narrative provides a deep emotional connection to Kenna's journey, enabling readers to empathize with her as she battles against the odds.

Summary and Review: Reminders of Him by Colleen Hoover - The

A troubled young mother yearns for a shot at redemption in this heartbreaking yet hopeful story from #1 New York Times bestselling author Colleen Hoover.

The part where Ledger shows the letters and proves Kenna’s true character is absolutely sweet, genuinely written and enough to make you emotional. When Kenna meets Ledger Ward, she’s a stranger to him, and he to her. Their attraction is immediate and urgent, but once Ledger learns the identity of the woman he can’t stop fantasising about, his only priority becomes keeping her far away from the little girl he loves the most in the world. Because five years of preconceived notions about a person are hard to let go of, and he knows that her presence in their lives would only lead to more sorrow and misery. I don’t like that the one person I dislike the most in this world reminds me of the person I love the most. Ledger knows nothing about Kenna and her past life, not even knowing that she was his best friend Scotty’s wife. Hoping to find new love with a positive affirmation from family and friends, some hesitant moments as well as healing old wounds, it won’t be easy for Kenna to let go of her past mistakes, build a future and heal life.

With captivating dialogue, angst-y characters, and a couple of steamy sex scenes, Hoover has done it again.

If you have read the book, you know what the truth regarding Scotty is. Based on that, if you were in place of Kenna, how would you have felt at that very moment? Ledger offers Kenna a part-time job to help stabilize her financially. During their conversation, Kenna reveals to Ledger that she has written many letters to Scotty that Ledger should read. This letter also contains the mystery of Scotty’s death.
