About this deal

One thing we haven't mentioned is Digital Wellbeing. It's a new panel in the Settings menu that shows your device usage, what apps you've accessed, and gives you options to restrict your phone's hold over your life by letting you set a wind-down period before bedtime, limiting interruptions and graying out the screen to discourage use. Over time the phone uses machine learning to understand what apps you use and prioritize them over others when it comes to memory and power. The 5.5-inch OLED screen fits into modern times. It's big and expansive, and sits in a phone that's smaller than we had expected given the screen size rumors. The entire thing measures 145.6 x 68.2 x 7.9mm and weighs 148g. It's roughly the same size as the Pixel 2, which had a smaller 5-inch display. The UI is clean, simple and fast to navigate. There’s only the essential Google apps pre-installed and absolutely nothing else. As a user of Google services, the way everything works and syncs together is nothing short of fantastic.

On top of that, newer phones have come along to question the Pixel 3's smartphone camera superiority, like the Huawei P30 Pro, so is it still at the top of our list of the best camera phones? Read on to find out. Since this is a pure Android phone it only comes loaded with Google apps. Our 64GB model had 51.11GB available for use. That's plenty of space for apps and photos, especially since you get unlimited Google Photos cloud storage for life. Conclusions Even though the display is big, this isn’t the best phone for media viewing – simply because that notch does get in the way. Some apps, YouTube and Netflix for example, can give you the option to expand video behind the notch or default it to 16:9. However, Google Play Movies has no such option, even though it’s visible on the smaller Pixel 3, so movies play in a small box with lots of wasted space. Google Pixel 3 XL – Performance According to Dr. Ray Soneira at DisplayMate Labs, t he Pixel 3 XL has a top-tier display with excellent calibration accuracy and performance that is "visually indistinguishable from perfect." It falls into the same category as the Galaxy Note 9, the Galaxy S9, and the iPhone X/XS Max, earning a DisplayMate Best Smartphone Display Award, with each screen standing out for its own particular strengths. We’ve covered the biggest Android 9 Pie features in a separate piece, so I won’t go deep into them here. However a couple do deserve a mention.

Still, get over the notch – along with the software oddities that come with it – and you’ll find a phone with the best camera on the market. Obviously the Pixel 3 XL has a bigger screen than the Pixel 3, but it's also sharper. It boasts a crisp 6.3-inch Quad HD OLED display with a 2,960-by-1,440 resolution in an 18.5:9 aspect ratio. This works out to 523 pixels per inch, sharper than the Pixel 3 (443ppi), the iPhone XS Max (458ppi) and the Galaxy Note 9 (516ppi). The Google Pixel 3 XL release date was October 18, 2018 in the US, and November 1, 2018 in the UK and Australia, and it launched thereafter is Canada, France, Germany, Japan, India, Ireland, Italy, Singapore, Spain, and Taiwan.

You'll still find dual front-facing speakers on the Google Pixel 3. No one else is really doing this anymore (except Razer with the Razer Phone 2), so it's nice to see in a flagship device. You'll also get Active Edge, which allows you to squeeze the sides of the phone to call up Google Assistant. We much prefer this squeeze mechanic as opposed to a dedicated AI button on the frame, like Samsung does with Bixby button (which we often confuse for the volume down button). Google’s version of Android is the best version for me and I always forgot how great the experience is when I am using something with a heavy skin. But the Pixel 3 XL is more functional: It has two selfie cameras, dual front-facing speakers, and Active Edge, allowing you to squeeze the sides of the frame to trigger Google Assistant. We prefer this over a dedicated AI button, something that annoys us about Samsung and LG’s new phones with dedicated, often-mispressed AI buttons. Of course, the notch is here because of the bigger display, which runs a lot closer to the edge than before. Approaching the design like this means the front cameras – of which there are two here – and speaker need somewhere to sit – and that’s where the notch comes in. It’s a necessary evil for a phone like this.Likely taking heed of complaints from last year, Google has given the Pixel 3 several screen color modes from the more color accurate Natural to a richer, more saturated Boosted. By default, it's on Adaptive, which I find offers the best of both worlds. Viewing angles are great and brightness is high enough to easily see the screen outdoors and even under direct sunlight, barring some reflectivity. We tested it on Verizon, the winner of our Fastest Mobile Networks testing this year. In midtown Manhattan, the phone delivered excellent network performance with top speeds of 51.2Mbps down and 37.6mbps up.

Like other flagship phones, the Pixel 3 is IP68 waterproof, allowing it to survive in over five feet of water for 30 minutes. It stood up to a thorough dunking and rinsing-off in the kitchen sink without issue. Performance is everything you'd expect from a flagship phone in late 2018. Like its larger sibling, the Pixel 3 is powered by a top-of-the-line Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor, with 4GB of RAM. That isn't as much as some other new phones that come with 6GB or 8GB of RAM, but it's still ample for multitasking and high-end gaming. Once Google Duplex is rolled out, the phone will be able to do even more in the call department. Google Assistant can take over calling duties for you, sparing you from the tedium of tasks like scheduling hair appointments and making dinner reservations. The Pixel 3 XL has a 3,430mAh battery that lasted for 8 hours, 10 minutes while streaming video over Wi-Fi at maximum screen brightness. That's a bit better than the 7 hours, 57 minutes managed by the 2,915mAh Pixel 3, but the difference is fairly negligible. Both can take advantage of fast charging with the included 18W adapter or wireless charging with the 10W Pixel Stand or other Qi-enabled charging accessories. The Pixel 3 XL is essentially the same handset as the Pixel 3, so see our review of that phone for specifics related to hardware and software performance. Here we're going to discuss what's different between the two phones and why that matters. We test every mobile phone we review thoroughly. We use industry standard tests to compare features properly and we use the phone as our main device over the review period. We’ll always tell you what we find and we never, ever, accept money to review a product. Por poner una pequeña tara, que parece que soy de la empresa, el tiempo de duración de la batería quizás sea un poco escaso. The Google Pixel 3 XL (128GB) is a good Android phone with 2.8GHz Octa-core processor that allows run games and heavy applications.

You’ll find smoother corners on the Google Pixel 3 XL – everything has been rounded off and flattened, giving Google’s Material Design software ethos a foothold within real life hardware. The frame edges are polished and the rear fingerprint sensor is flatter. Me ha parecido todo genial. Tiempo de entrega, atención, precio y calidad del producto. Mención especial a la creatividad con el trato al cliente. It's the grown up version of last year's phone. The Pixel 3 screen looks richer than last year's Pixel 2, too. The specs note that it has only a few more pixels per inch, but keep in mind the screen is much taller, so there are a lot more pixels spread across a half inch of extra screen. There's noticeably less bezel thanks to it's 18:9 aspect ratio rather than the dated 16:9 look. Last year's oversized bezel, we felt, was the biggest disappointment design-wise about the Pixel 2XL. The Google Pixel 3 fixes this issue. The Pixel 3's rear camera is capable of recording 4K video at 30fps and 1080p at 60fps. In both cases, video is smooth and stable, buoyed by a mix of optical and electronic image stabilization. We found video to be smooth, with minimal jittering or frame drops. Software and AI As far as additional audio goes, the front-firing stereo speakers may not be room-filling at maximum volume, but they were more than sufficient to attract the attention of my colleagues when blasting Iron Maiden. The Pixel 3 supports 24-bit audio with the included Pixel Buds. The Pixel Buds are comfortable to wear, come with an adjustable ear loop, and integrate with Google Assistant. I found audio quality to be robust, with a crisp and accurate range, though the LG G7 with its dedicated quad DAC still provides more customization for audiophiles.I’ll start with that notch, because it’s really the first thing that catches your eye. I’ve got nothing against notches in general, but the size of the one used here feels a step too far. It droops down noticeably more than an iPhone XS Max and as a result impacts on the content a lot. tips about smartphones that are the preferred option for Canadians who want to have fun on the go Wednesday, 10.25.2023 Wireless charging is a new feature for the Pixel phones, and a welcome change now that Google has launched the Pixel Stand wireless charger alongside its new devices. We haven't had a wirelessly charging Google phone since the plastic Nexus 6. Other connectivity protocols include dual-band Wi-Fi, NFC for use with Google Pay, and Bluetooth 5.0 for wireless listening.
