About this deal

If you shout Pictureka! before you point, or if you point at a picture that blatantly doesn't match the mission then you're a sneaky cheat! Red mission cards are the ‘My Tile’ card, which requires all players to have a specific tile. Players then compete to be the first to find the object listed on the mission card.

Pictureka did not start out under the name “Pictureka”. In fact, it was launched by Lauwers Games under the name ‘Project X’. The game was invented by Belgian game inventor Arne Lauwers. It was a multilingual version intended for the European & US market. I do give the game credit for creating four different games that you can play with the cards. This gives you some options on how you would like to play the game. In particular I liked that it included speed games and games that give you time to think without having to be the fastest player. This is good for younger children and people who don’t like speed games. I personally preferred the two speed games but there are a lot of people that hate speed games. If a player shouts at ‘Pictureka’ and then fails to point out where the mission objective is, this would be a good example of a player ‘cheating’. Pictureka! is simple to learn and so much fun to play. It is great for all ages and, in fact, playing with a wider variety of people adds something to the game and it will become a firm family favourite. As it is not a strategy game with lots to learn and understand adults have no real advantage over children. In fact, it often appears that the younger the player the better the eyesight and faster the reactions and so this often results in the older players becoming more competitive as they start to lose to the younger ones! and 6 are blue colored, 2 and 5 are green colored, and 3 and 4 are blue colored. (In case you have your own dice, not the one included in the game.) Pictureka is an game of visual hide and seek. Inside you will find 100 different mission cards in three categories. Be the first to spot the dinosaur. Find a stinky thing on your picture tile. In this game it is finders keepers: you get the card if you find the object(s) fast or first. Collect enough cards to win, and you are the Pictureka champ. Suitable for two or more players. Players who draw these cards perform the required action as soon as players draw that card. Pictureka Missions Rules

If this is the case, then all the players agree upon a fitting punishment for the offending player. Keeping Score in the Pictureka Game The game was designed in 2006 by Belgian game designer Arne Lauwers, who has been designing games since 2002. His company, Lauwers Games, licensed Pictureka! to Hasbro, which is now publishing this wildly popular game. If at any point someone catches a player cheating, then other players can point them out to other players by shouting ‘ Liar, Liar, Pants on Fire’! Take a green card. Read out the words on the layer you chose, then roll the die. That's how many of those things you have to find.If you're first to find a picture that matches the mission, shout Pictureka! and point at it. You get to keep the card.

Separate the cards into piles of the same color and put them face down. Make sure each pile is well shuffled. Shuffle the picture cards and deal three cards to each player. Shuffle the mission cards and deal one to each player. Players hold their cards in their hand but don’t let the other players know what they have. The oldest player gets to start. The first player takes the top two cards from the picture card draw pile. Before flipping a card over, each player bets on how many images they can find on the board that fit into the card's category.

One of the two current missions is “something stinky”. The boxer looks stinky so the player could play this card. Mix together the red and green cards from both games and shuffle one red pile and one green pile. Put them face down on the table.

Keeping score in Pictureka is a simple task, the winner of a game is the player who has the most cards at the end of the agreed-upon rounds.Cheating may be a bit extreme, but to keep a lighthearted tone include those who are also mistaken as well. Pictureka! by Hasbro Games is a fast-paced family party game perfect for younger children. Picture a crazy mash up of Dobble and Where’s Wally, where two or more players, aged 6+, scan nine tiles of zany artwork to find specific pictures or objects within those pictures and collect cards. The player, or team, with the most cards at the end of the game wins. Play a card of that color (if you see an arrow, remember to switch or flip a tile before you play). This player has three cards that match one of the missions. The three left cards feature things with wings. Two teams of three contestants (consisting of two kids & a parent) competed in this crazy game of hide & seek.
