An alternative place to visit on the island is Sainte-Chapelle, a 13th-century gothic chapel with stunning stained glass windows. It is possible to visit Paris in a day from London on the Eurostar. On weekdays the earliest train departs London at 6.01am and arrives in Paris at 9.21am or the 7.01am train arrives at 10.21am. Sometimes, hotels don’t really make sense, whether it’s because you have a big enough group where you’d need multiple rooms, or it’s a longer trip and you’d prefer a little more space (living out of a hotel room can be a little exhausting after a few nights). First of all, it’s worth noting that we’re basically in love with Hoxton hotels. They’re always warm and welcoming and unbelievably stylish. And the hotel bar is always a good time. It’s not going to be the cheapest option on this list, but it’s probably the nicest – not to mention coolest – hotel in the 2nd. The reality is that, depending on what you’re looking for, there are other neighborhoods that probably meet your needs. But these are the five that we think are the best for 99% of travelers, and we’ve shown our work, doing our best to explain why we think that.

In Le Marais there are plenty of options for dinner. If you are on a budget (or vegetarian), this area is known for its falafel— L’As du Fallafel is the most famous but there are many others. It is believed that Lutetia’s Roman Forum, the center of religious and civil life during the Roman times, was located at current rue Soufflot, while today’s rue Saint Jacques was one of the two main streets in Roman times. They have standard rooms and executive rooms – the difference being the amount of extra space, basically – and they also have adjoining rooms for families or groups traveling together.
