About this deal

This does highlight one of the positives of using Windows on the Onexplayer though, and that is it is fundamentally a standard PC. The lone USB Type-A port at the top of the device allows you to plug in all manner of peripherals, and they'll just work. You'll find a pair of USB 4.0 Type-C ports up here as well, which can be used for charging or for connecting newer peripherals. Pressing and holding the Keyboard key allowed me to use mouse mode to move an on-screen cursor, so that function must be hard-coded into the firmware. But a single-tap did not bring up Ubuntu’s on-screen keyboard. This portable gaming handheld can also emulate Retro Gaming Titles with ease, allowing you to even emulate PlayStation 3 titles. This is a breakthrough in computing, especially in this form-factor.

And for storing your game library, the ONEXPLAYER 1S handheld comes with 1TB of PCIe 3.0×4 NVMe. Experience speeds up to 2400MB/s Respectable Battery Thanks for reading this far! Do you have any games in particular that fit the OneXPlayer well? Let us know in the comments! You can manually rotate the screen from the Windows 10 Display settings menu, but if you do that the mouse mode will still think the computer is in landscape, so you’ll need to push left to move the cursor up, right to move it down, and so on. Uh huh. For the most part, this thing feels like a finished, production-ready device. But I did run into one problem: shortly after filming an unboxing and first look video, the touchscreen on my demo unit stopped working. So far I have tried a mix recent and old AAA games and Indie games without any issues. The only issue for me is because i'm an old PC Gamer and not used to using controllers for FPS games it would be nice to have had a tilt sensor which I think might make FPS games easier for aiming, and a built in touch pad for playing management sims and RTS games. But i'm tinkering with settings so getting used to the controls. The only other issue which is more annoying is the SD Card reader speed, R/W is around 20-30MB which is ok for running emulator games but would have been nice to be able to buy a 1TB SD card with fast 100MB+ RW speeds to expand storage. There is a Micro SD Card slot for additional storage. And finally there is a USB 3.0 port which can be used to connect peripherals to.

Powered by an Intel Tiger Lake processor with Intel Iris Xe graphics, the ONEXPLAYER has the horsepower to handle many modern PC games. By cramming the guts of a decent laptop into a device small enough to hold in your hands, One Netbook managed to make a gaming device that you can carry with you to play just about anywhere. Given the… less than stellar reception of the OneXPlayer keyboard, this is an understandable omission. OneXPlayer vs OneXPlayer Mini – Top ViewOne thing you might expect from a laptop in 2021 is missing though – the ONEXPLAYER does not have a webcam. So if you plan to use this little computer for video calls, web conferencing, or live streaming, you’re going to need to connect a USB camera. The GPD Win 3 scores an average of 35 FPS over the course of the match. The GPD Win MAX 2021 scores an average of 40 FPS. And the ONEXPLAYER 1S scores an average of 44 FPS over the course of the match. Welcome to our FAQ for the OneXPlayer mini!
