I am a long time passionate cook and since moving into my van this has not changed. If anything I have become more passionate and I now think more about my health and nutrition as well as eating fresh and local produce. My first try was putting them in my savarin pan but it sits on the bottom and the base of the scones were slightly burnt, the rest of each one tasted great. So pondered the problem. Then - Storage Bag: Nice to have but not essential, this storage bag fits the Omnia and all its accessories and will help prevent scratches and dings when you store it.Ok so despite waiting so long to get my hands on the Omnia it was actually Sophie that had the pleasure of using it first! Otherwise, I am happy to put my name and the name of Van Life Eats reputation on claiming that the Omnia oven is definitely a van life and campervan kitchen essential.

With the Omnia oven you get freshly baked bread and delicious oven-cooked food using the heat of the cooktop. It’s easy to use, low in weight, takes up little space and requires no installation. PROVEN AND POPULAR Through vent holes around the tin, the heat and moisture can escape thus not allowing the food to get soggy. Main reason was for baking bread in the van, I do have an oven but it takes quite a time to heat it up and it uses a fair amount of gas.. will also be trying out other recipes, it has endless possibilities.. basically anything you can do in a conventional oven is possible on the Omnia .. so for those without an oven this may be just the job.? However, the Omnia does have one HUGE advantage over a Dutch oven: it doesn’t require charcoals/embers. All you need is a camp stove.All things considered, this oven is a really good investment. Like I mentioned earlier, having an Omnia oven with you really opens up a lot more cooking options. It makes for a great gift too if your friend/loved one already has a stove. Again, I could not wait to see how these muffins would turn out. Just like the biscuits, I was not disappointed! Perfectly baked, browned on the tops, warm and delicious. Rather than bake a single loaf I prefer to bake 8 rolls which then all touch and join up with each other during the prove/bake. The Omnia oven comes with it’s very own protective vinyl bag son of you wanted to take the oven out of your campervan and cook on a beach or on a hike then this is all made very easy.

Cover the Omnia and bake over medium heat for 15-20 minutes, until the rolls have puffed up and cooked through. Freshly baked muffins make a camping morning even better. Therefore, I whipped up a batch of muffin batter to test it out. I happened to have silicone muffin tins, which worked perfectly in the Omnia Oven. I must admit even after seeing and talking to other van lifers I was still a little sceptical to how it would come out.
