About this deal

She could not have envisaged what the future would bring, but she was prepared and enabling so that many others fulfilled their own dreams through her advocacy, support and service. Meanwhile, World War II is underway, and she trained as a driver and mechanic. After the war, when she was only twenty-one, the country celebrated her marriage to Prince Philip. The book tells us she saved her ration coupons for the fabric for her wedding dress. I thought that was a nice touch to her story.

This was a fascinating book that has so much history to learn and also terrific whimsical information that children are likely to love. The Queen loved animals, so someone sent her an Elephant named Jumbo. The illustrations are beautiful and fun and add to the special quality of this book. I definitely recommend this book for schools, libraries, and book stores.

When she was only 13, World War Two broke out across the globe. Elizabeth bravely served as an ambulance driver, and after the war ended, she fell in love with and married the charming Prince Philip. In 1952, she was crowned Queen of the United Kingdom, and for the next 70 years she would serve as a beacon of continuity, looking after her subjects and serving the country she reigned over. Now with more than 8 million copies sold worldwide, the series continues to grow and expand, introducing children around the world to artists, trailblazers, and dreamers who each made a big impact in the world around them. Each book provides an age-appropriate overview of the lives of pioneering figures, from designers and artists to scientists and activists. Firstly, I love this book series. I love the artwork and the stories about influential people and how they got to that point. I also love The Queen. So I was very excited for this.

I love the Little People Big Dreams books. They, along with the Rebel Girls series, are fantastic for inspiring young children. A much-cherished sovereign across the globe, Queen Elizabeth is respected for a lifetime of service and devotion to her people.”There is no doubt that her love of country life and animals never dimmed, and one of my favourite illustrations is this one, of her beloved Balmoral Castle in Scotland. She spent her summers there every year, and it was at Balmoral that she died in early September 2022. (This was being published before her death.) We learn all the essential facts about the Queen - from whose daughter and granddaughter she was, to her famous speech to children during World War II, her wedding, coronation and royal duties. In the end, there is a 'longer' text with a brief biography of the Queen. The quality of this summary for children is perfect. In my opinion, it's supported by the fact that many newspaper articles about the royal family don't mention more details. Informative and fun way for the younger generation to remember England's longest-reigning monarch who recently passed away. She had a long and interested life and will be studies by historians for centuries. I know it's an upbeat children's book, but I think you still have to be careful about being overly optimistic about what was colonization. Other than that, I adore this series! The only thing is I wish it had included some more about what the Queen did during her reign. It seemed to glaze over that part for me.

Welcome to the new home of Little People, Big Dreams, the best-selling biography series for kids by Maria Isabel Sánchez Vegara. Learn more about each of your favourite dreamers withnew in-depth stories, facts and figuresin this beautifully-crafted compendium. Each story isrewritten to be appropriate for an older audience. Revisit best-loved figures from the series and some new ones, too. The author’s focus on two major events in young Elizabeth’s life, highlight moments which changed her life forever. This is a good opportunity to spend time with children discussing what happens when events, out of our control, occur and cause our journey to take a different direction. I read this with my niece and nephew, and we talked about how our attitude can make all the difference in the world. The first lesson Elizabeth learned was that “a good queen serves her people, not the other way around.’ This shaped her destiny and contributed to her incredible legacy as the longest serving British monarch. She learns it is a full-time job with constant demands on her time and attention. No wonder she enjoyed the company of dogs and horses!Being a queen wasn’t something Princess Elizabeth Alexandra Mary, or Lilibet as her family called her, had dreamed about nor been prepared for. After all, she was born a princess, the granddaughter of King George. There were many others in line for the throne. Unlike her grandchildren today who are being raised in the shadow of what’s ahead, the first decade of Elizabeth’s life was carefree, with little understanding nor expectation of a royal destiny.
