About this deal

The sub-bass on the P1 MAX rolls a little earlier while the bass is leaner and drier sounding but with a touch of extra control and clarity compared to the S12 PRO which is fuller and weightier but more hollow and looser.

Detail Retrieval & Resolution: On par with sets like dioko, which means it has great details for its price, tho some might say dioko has better details due to its unnatural peak on the 8khz region forcing the treble to stands out like a sore thumb. DUNU has obtained internationally-recognized acoustic research achievements and patents. DUNU was one of the pioneers in developing a full beryllium dome single DD IEM in the LUNA, which are still regarded as one of the top-of-the-line single DD sets that can match multi-BA/hybrid IEMs in resolution. Most other purported beryllium DD IEMs are plated or coated only. Dioko to my ears is a lean sounding set, more or less same bass quantity as Stellaris and has weird 8khz peak that make edge of every notes sound sharp.

They always say balanced cables improve the sound you hear. Well, it is the plugs actually and they do. If they do nothing, the least they can do is smooth out the spikes and fill in the ramps on any frequency graph, making the reviewer regret what they said. Treble on Dioko to my ears sounds unnatural and forced because of the peak around 8khz, sure it might affect the perception of detail retrieval, but in a forced manner like throwing it to your face.

The Stellaris are much harder to drive. Tonality aside, the Stellaris’ sub-optimal fit may be a deal-breaker. The heavy shells and lengthy nozzles can cause comfort and fit issues for users. Treble is another area where planar drivers come into play. Even though the thin upper mids in s12 pro, cymbals aren’t splashy with the pro update. And this a good sign in it’s favor. Timbre is very successful here, you can differentiate between stringed treble or percussion treble or keyboard treble to the point of %85, %90 in s12. And, because bass punch has a controlled bleeding into treble-heavy genres, you’re not alone in experiencing ear-hurting fatigue caused by trebles in S12 Pro. Its father s12 has less bass power but still the treble has managed not be so tiring.Just for the sake of overall planar comparison, the PR1 Pro if compared to full sized headphone such as Sundara, it has the exact same planar characteristics, nothing is lost on the PR1 Pro, just different tuning and different price point and different form factor. The S12 PRO is resolving, crystal clear and transparent in the mid-range with a natural voicing that is combined with the already excellent bass performance to make for an immersive and realistic listening experience perfectly suitable for classical music and not only. Not to mention, planar iem takes EQ like a champ. It doesn’t suffer from disortion or a sense of suffercate if you take DD’s bass to the extreme through EQ. Customers have to bear any form of custom/import/processing fees that are applicable for your parcel.

Review: LETSHUOER S12 Pro - PLANARy Session - Headphonesty

The S12 is a slightly warm and very enjoyable set of earphones that balances its sound signature between sounding reference and musical while retaining good levels of transparency and technicalities. As far as fit is concerned… ugh. I will complain about this until I simply stop adding the most subjective topic of fitment. For me these fit perfectly. The slightly angled nozzle helps these earphones to sit perfectly nestled in my ear, almost like they grew there. For you however, I have zero clue how they will work. The lower midrange is slightly depressed. After that, there’s a slight boost in the upper midrange, but thankfully, this area is forward without being shouty. The shells are fashioned from high-precision CNC (computer numerical control) machining with aviation-grade aluminum alloy. According to marketing materials, an inner gold-plated brass acoustic cavity structure assists with making the sound natural.

The Talos are no slouch in timbre, but of the planar challengers, the Zetian Wu have the best timbral accuracy of the lot.

IMO the PR1 Pro has really good bass quality, you can feel the heavy slams, rumble but at the same time, the bass is well controlled, speedy, and tight.
