About this deal

What might realistically kill this for you is the size and the weight, though, especially when also considering that 300W charger. If you’re looking for something lightweight and portable that you could easily grab along to work or school, this might not be right for you. For the Legion 5 17, Lenovo relies on a fast Samsung SSD. In this case, it has a capacity of 512 GB and uses the fast M.2 PCIe interface for data transfers. As our results show, however, this setup cannot quite keep up with the competition. At 512 GB, the capacity is not exactly massive, either. On a gaming laptop, we expect at least 1 TB of storage space. There are some small differences in how the Quiet power profiles are set up between the two, with a noisier and more powerful Quiet mode on the Legion 5, and a quieter and somewhat limited Quiet profile on the 5 Pro. Neither is perfect. Gaming performance That aside, there are also Intel-based versions of Legion 5i, built on Tiger Lake H45 hardware. Over here, those are more expensive than the AMD versions. Final thoughts- Lenovo Legion 5 Pro The keyboards should be identical between the Legion 5 and Legion 5 Pro series, yet somehow I found this one here on the 5 Pro more accurate in my tests.

Legion 5 Pro (16, AMD) | RTX™ 3060 6GB, 3070 8GB - Lenovo Legion 5 Pro (16, AMD) | RTX™ 3060 6GB, 3070 8GB - Lenovo

Engineered to deliver devastation in and out of the arena, the Legion 5 Pro deploys AMD Ryzen™ processing and NVIDIA® GeForce RTX™ graphics to dish out high-resolution gaming. The calibration is alright out of the box, with good uniformity and little light bleeding around the edges. FHD IPS (1920 x 1080), 165Hz refresh rate, <3 ms response time, 100% sRGB, 300 nits, Dolby Vision™ supported, AMD FreeSync™ Premium Covers 97% of the sRGB color gamut and has accurate color representation with our Gaming and Web design profile (BOE NV156FHM-NY8 (BOE0998)) So all in all there’s little to complain about here, but I’ll still remind you of the brighter and sharper WQHD panel available for the Legion 5 series in a few regions, as well as the WQHD+ 16:10 option on the Legion 5 Pro. I’d recommend opting for one of those if you can squeeze them within budget. The Legion 5 is available in most areas of the world at the time of this article, but the prices seem to differ significantly from region to region.

upgraded the ram to one slot 16gb dual rank, later ill add another one, upgraded the wificard to intel ax210

Unlike the 3050Ti variant we’ve already covered a few months ago, this 3060 is significantly more capable in games and GPU-intensive workloads, for roughly 200 EUR more over here in Europe.

It's understandable that we're in the era of tablets and 14"s, but I'm really having trouble imagining this much power in a slimmer body and with a reasonable price tag.
