Its INCIname is a bit of a mouthful, but Bis-Ethylhexyloxyphenol Methoxyphenyl Triazine is worth recognizing it as it is one of the best sunscreen agents known today. Unfortunately, it's not FDA-approved so you will not find it in sunscreens coming from the US (not because it's not good, but becauseUS regulations make it impossible for newer sunscreen agents to get approved), but it is widely available in other parts of the world like Europe, Australia or Asia. The fairer the complexion, the sooner it will start to burn. Darker skins can resist skin burn for a longer duration. I have a wheatish complexion, so without taking any risk, I assume my skin will start damaging in the sun after 5 minutes. I reapply my SPF 50 after 5 X 50 = 250 minutes without fail. In vitro (made in the lab not on real people) and animal studies have shown that it may produce hormonal (estrogen-like) effects. Although for review purpose, I have used the product with and without moisturizer. It works better without moisturizer than with moisturizer. I usually use Sebamed Clear Face Care Gel or Hyalugel Hyaluronic Acid Gel beneath any sunscreen, but for La Shield Sunscreen Gel I didn’t even feel to use gel based ones. With moisturizer this sunscreen will feel oily for people with oily, acne prone skin. If you apply it on body, you will notice a sheen after application. La Shield Sunscreen Gel SPF 40PA+++is a sunscreen am enjoying right now in the winters for my oily and acne prone skin. The oil free and non comedogenic formula is good for oily, acne prone skin. Although using a moisturizer underneath would be little heavy for oily skinned beauties. The sunscreen doesn’t sweat at all in winters at least which is a huge plus for me. I don’t know how it will behave in summers but am sure to not use any moisturizer beneath while using it, irrespective of the season. Even though I knew about this for a long time, but never really took it seriously. Rather, I kept on trying out others while the perfect one kept on waiting for me. La Shield Lite Sunscreen Gel SPF 50+ PA+++ is sun protection that blends into the skin without causing a mess. It is excellent to protect the skin from UVA and UVB rays. It protects the skin both indoors and outdoors. It is a powerful antioxidant, lowers inflammation, evens skin tone and restores suppleness while decreasing enlarged pores. This sunscreen contains 25% Zinc Oxide providing broad-spectrum sun protection i.e. SPF 50+ & PA+++ A physical/inorganic sunscreen with pretty broad spectrum (UVB and UVA II, less good at UVA I) protection and good stability. Might leave some whitish tint on the skin, though.
