Unless you own a HiMirror, your morning probably wasn't filled with quite as much brutal honesty as ours. HiMirror is a smart mirror, which acts as a beauty tool, a media streaming device and a personal skincare assistant. For the price, I would have liked to see a mirror that felt sturdy and durable. The Slide just doesn’t. And several aspects of the design seem poorly thought out. What does the tablet do? HiMirror Plus+ can be a frustrating product at times. Its gesture controls can be unwieldy, and the software in the mirror and the app can be slow at times. In addition to this, its short cord means you're limited where you can install it. Perhaps most frustrating, however, was the feeling that you had to choose whether you were using it as a mirror or as a smart device.

HiMirror’s video tutorials can be accessed via the media streaming section of the menu and they’re split into different categories: fitness and skincare. Both categories contain instructional videos with advice for users. Juggling YouTube on a phone, applying makeup, and looking in a mirror at the same time can be a royal pain. Sometimes, the makeup artist I'm watching moves too fast, leaving me with foundation all over the screen in my frantic attempt to rewind. Well, there's a more effortless solution: the HiMirror Slide. Marlene did answer some commenters and go further to explain that "First/biz class, those with priority-boarding privileges - disabilities, active military, families with kids under 2 won’t experience any changes." Despite that, internet users complained about those exact things. The Slide's highlight is the ability to watch YouTube on the screen while using the mirror. There's an almost endless wealth of makeup and beauty tutorials on YouTube, and following along is something I regularly do. Having the video right next to the mirror has been extremely helpful. It could even come in handy if you're watching tutorials while coloring, cutting, or styling your hair. The mirror is largely gesture-controlled, which is incredibly cool in person. After you take a selfie, simply wave your arm in front of the mirror, which turns into a display, to move through the menu and see each component of your skin analysis. This also keeps your mirror from turning into a mess of smudged fingerprints.
The mirror half has a cutout near the bottom. When the Slide is closed and the tablet is covered by the mirror panel, text on the tablet instructing users to open up the Slide can be seen through the cutout in the mirror. This space could have been used in so many more useful ways. The cutout area is plenty big enough to allow for the vanity lights’ power and brightness buttons, but as it is, you can’t use the lights at all with the Slide shut. And also, there's a chunk of your mirror that is just a hole. Why?!

HiMirror also makes companion accessories, a hand-held skin analyzer called HiSkin and a smart body scale, that both sync to the mirror to take into account your skin hydration levels, weight, bone density, and more.HiMirror is like your very own private 24-7 beauty consultant, providing beauty, health and fitness tips, plus helpful videos and articles. In the future, we plan to expand into the fashion world, providing information on the latest fashion trends, how to tailor them to fit your body type and more. As we mentioned before, using the touch sensitive button on the right hand side of the mirror will allow you to move between different modes. One tap of the button will turn off the mirror’s screen and allow you to use it as an ordinary mirror. Another tap will take you into zoom mode. This turns on the overhead camera and gives you a closer look at your face. With each tap you’ll be able to zoom in up to three times closer. You’ll also be given the option to connect the remote control which comes with the mirror if you’re not particularly taken with its gesture controls. Much more on why this may be the case later. Skin analysis In mirror mode, HiMirror just becomes an ordinary mirror and it performs this function well. We were somewhat disappointed, however, that it was quite so ordinary.

Of course, online travellers aired their grievances online: "As a window person, I don’t really think it’s that big of a deal," TikToker Leona Marlene said to FoxNews, whose account features travel tips and advice. "But I could see aisle people being a little bit bothered by this."
HiMirror allows you to sync your skin analysis results, including month-history pictures and solution data, with your smart phone so you can receive beauty and fitness advice anytime, anywhere. It also provides you with timely tips, including the weather forecast and UV index.
