About this deal

One particular young lady I remember had special needs. When she joined my unit she had a vocabulary of five or six words, poor motor control and functioned considerably younger than her age.

Girls come in all different colours and sizes. They delight and amaze us. They're full of surprises. Girls can do anything they want to do. And if you are a girl, you can do these things too." Miss 4 really enjoyed this and I liked the references at the end to real women and their accomplishments. Just Because I'm Awake Tshirt for Tweens, Sarcastic Shirt, Funny TShirt, Gift for Her, Teen girl Gift, Sassy Attitude Drama Shirt Which brings me to Karen Gaffney. She’s the first person with Down’s syndrome to complete a relay swim of the English Channel – or La Manche if you’re on the other side. She is also the first person with Down’s syndrome to receive a doctorate, which was awarded to her by the University of Portland for her work in raising awareness of the abilities of people with her condition. She is one of an increasing number of people that are changing perceptions of people with Down’s and for that she truly deserves her place in our gallery. Our refreshed brand is much more than a new logo. It’s how we look. It’s how we sound. It’s everything we do, and why we exist. I think this book could be a good starting point to investing non-fiction texts like biographies on what influential women have done. Rainbows, Brownies, Guides and Rangers have their own distinct identities so they appeal to girls at different ages as they grow. The GOA is a program of the Obama Foundation that empowers adolescent girls around the world through education, especially poor girls from disadvantaged communities, allowing them to achieve their full potential and transform their lives, families, and communities. Ms. Obama was accompanied to Vietnam by actors Julia Roberts, Lana Condor, and Ngo Thanh Van and Today Show cohost Jenna Bush Hager.

Girls Can Do Anything: another five inspirational women

We began because girls wanted an equal world, where they could have the same opportunities as boys. So much progress has been made since we started. But things can still be tough for girls. The impact of the pandemic on girls’ wellbeing, online pressures, discrimination and sexism all present unique challenges. It’s been over a century, and the reason we were founded hasn’t gone away. The campaign idea was to widen the work opportunity for women in non-traditional female work careers like surveying, building, welding, plumbing, and butchery.Megan Cook, 'Women’s movement - Health, fertility and education', Te Ara - the Encyclopedia of New Zealand, http://www.TeAra.govt.nz/en/ephemera/27921/girls-can-do-anything (accessed 1 November 2023)

Reading graduate, Karen Dwyer, has been volunteering with Girlguiding for nearly 45 years. Her longstanding commitment is inspired by her love of Girlguiding and helping young girls grow into confident women. We want to shout about who we are, and our vision for an equal world. We’ve been working hard behind the scenes with volunteers, parents, and girls to bring our refreshed brand to life. Today's launch will drive us forward as we look to the future. I also think Hart did a good job empowering girls without discrediting "traditional" feminine things like dresses or being a dancer or teacher. A multitude of interests are represented from gymnastics to skateboarding, being an astronaut or a violinist. The girls are dressed in different ways, such as tutus, skirts, pants, board shorts. The book really shows that there is no "right" way to be a girl as long as you are yourself. That’s why today, we’re excited to share our refreshed brand with the world. It’s a chance to focus on our core mission to be here for all girls – enabling them to discover the best in themselves and make a positive difference in their community. We’re showing the world that we’re still that pioneering, vibrant space where all girls can fulfil their potential and find their voice. We hope that it encourages even more girls to join us and experience the magic of guiding for themselves. Why do girls need Girlguiding? Another example of the impact of this support is Ha Thi Anh, one of just two female students in the department of civil and industrial construction at the National University of Civil Engineering. Once a shy student from a rural province, Ha Anh is now a confident and accomplished student. She enthusiastically participates in all program activities—including soft-skills training workshops, supplementary English lessons, and volunteer activities. In any activity, she always plays a leadership role by gathering and organizing her peers. In her, we find an abundant source of energy and an intense desire to rise. She regards her family’s situation not as a fault, but as a motivation to achieve her goals. She works part time as a tutor to help cover the cost of living in Hanoi. She cultivates her English capabilities in any way possible and seeks advice from senior students and friends in her major. She explores opportunities for study abroad and many other previously unimaginable things, with the hope of a brighter future and supporting her parents.
