About this deal

When fixing your skirting board to masonry walls you will need to make sure that you use masonry nails or screws. If using the latter, you should start by drilling pilot holes in to the masonry wall before inserting wall plugs that the screws will be fed in to. For nails, you should simply hammer these in around every 50-60cm. Then position the skirting, hold it in place with yer foot whilst you gently tap it along its length with a soft mallet to nicely squish the adhesive in place - chust pressing it firmly into place is fine too. A squeeze of adhesive coming out along the top is good. Ok, now keeping it in place with yer foot, hammer the PPs in just enough so's they grab in the masonry (ie - in the plaster layer). Just tap them in enough to hold - do NOT over-hit them or they are likely to bend and then move the skirting board or break the plaster. If you have a dry lined wall with masonry behind it then be sure to use screws that are long enough to penetrate the inner masonry wall – usually around 80mm screws will suffice.

Using nails in addition to adhesive will allow for a more secure fix. It also eradicates the need to use props to hold the skirting in place while the adhesive sets. Just recently had my upstairs floored and put the skirting on myself with oval nails, nailed into studs using stud finder. Ok job, bit wavy, i presume its just the walls as its new build. The use of pin (small diameter) nails can also be applied when joining two mitres together. You should apply a small amount of adhesive or PVA glue when joining the two angled pieces but using a couple of small nails will help create the perfect join. TIPS: All goods are authentic, with genuine patents, counterfeit must be investigated! Customers, please identify our products!!! Using a nail gun can significantly increase the speed at which you fix your skirting to the wall but it is not strictly necessary as a good old fashioned hammer will do the job just as well.

Skirting Line Dedicated】 You no longer need to worry about falling off the skirting lines or rusting the nail holes, which will affect the aesthetics. Yes they will be going into masonry, all downstairs are masonry walls. I actually got the 3x40mm masonry nails, same ones you linked to and I think they are too big, Easy Installation】 There is no need for an electric drill to drill holes. First, put the nail into the sleeve, drive the nail into the wall, fix a nail according to the length of the skirting line of about half a meter, and then fix the skirting line to the nail.Top Tip: To ensure you drill holes deep enough measure the depth on the drill bit and mark it with a piece of masking tape. Then you just ensure you drill to that depth each time. Strong adhesives such as Gripfill are without a doubt the easiest way to attach your skirting to the wall but they can be troublesome with walls that are not even – which is a common problem even in modern homes. You should find you'll learn how to judge this - a couple of firm (and straight) taps with the hammer should do. Right, remove the skirting, run a goodly bead of solvent-free along near the top (about 10mm down) and a ditto near the bottom (about 15mm up), and then some wobbly beads in between (depending on how tall your skirting is).

If you have masonry walls then the best option is usually going to be to use a mixture of adhesive such as Gripfill (we supply standard and solvent free Gripfill) and masonry screws or nails. Easy Installation】There is no need for an electric drill to drill holes. First, put the nail into the sleeve, drive the nail into the wall, fix a nail according to the length of the skirting line of about half a meter, and then fix the skirting line to the nail. For plastered walls or plasterboard with timber studs, then you can use either an adhesive on its own or a mix of adhesive and oval wire nails – ensuring that you nail these in line with the timber studs. Skirting Line Dedicated】This non marking nail for skirting is designed specifically for installing skirting lines, so you no longer need to worry about falling off the skirting lines or rusting the nail holes, which will affect the aesthetics.
