About this deal

I cant thank Donna and my friend enough for this. Another friend spookily sent me another of Donna poems- a "saw this and thought of you" moment. Donna clearly touches many and gets it big time. Your instinct for knowing what (and who) is worth your time, will grow and flourish like ivy on a castle wall.

Each year I award my 5** to around 10% of the books I read (around 220 a year) as they have touched me and been that extra special. This one deserves this in spades. 10 * if I could. TO OUR DAUGHTERS 🌟 You were born made of softness, sweetness and love, but with a will so strong it could bend iron – despite what society may tell you, you don’t have to lose one or the other. Keep them all, they are yours. Aren’t you blessed? 🌟 Your super-power in this life, is There will never be a day you don’t miss her. Never a day, where you don’t wish you could hear her voice or ask for her advice just one more time. There will never be a moment that you don’t regret all the times you screened her call, or missed a visit, simply because life

Our thoughts can so easily 'think' us into chaos. Donna's beautiful words never fail to meet us there within our jumbled reality. Words that give comfort, perspective, empathy and love. It's like she reaches into my soul and shows me 'it's okay'. Earlier this year, I reviewed this poet’s books, Life, and Love. Here is another title by this author whose works are written in an easy to read way and yet offer much meaning. In this way, Ashworth reminds me a bit of Mary Oliver.

The Right Words: when you need them most: Ashworth, Donna

Popular funeral poem based on a short verse by David Harkins. An uplifting poem about being grateful for a loved one’s life. There are many choices available to us women in this life – but when it comes to your body, there are only two: Accept it Or don’t. You see, if you choose to accept your body, you will soon start to love it, admire it, look after it. These things all follow in the wakeShe wants you to remember what it feels like to run to the sea without a care in the world and splash and laugh till you ache. If you are organising a funeral service some of these are ideal to be read at those. As I said earlier in my review my mum recently died and we chose a poem my daughter remembered from school called Funeral Blues by W.H. Auden. There were many in this book that I could and would have had. Whether you have a mother or not, the need will always be there. Even if you never had one, even if you don’t have any experience of that maternal love, there is a hole inside of you that perhaps, you didn’t even know you had. A woman needs her mum, this much is true. So This collection of poetry from Donna Ashworth will stay with me for many years to come. It is moving, kind, empathetic and so insightful; there are pieces here for almost every eventuality and type of grief. It is soothing, human and compassionate, and yet somehow aids that progression through the darker days of grief. Don’t prioritise your looks, my friend, they won’t last the journey.Your sense of humour though, will only get better.Your intuition will grow and expand like a majestic cloak of wisdom.Your ability to choose your battles, will be fine-tuned to perfection.Your capacity for stillness, for living in the moment, will blossom. And your desire to live each and

Scottish writer Donna Ashworth translates our thoughts and feelings about life, love and loss into poetry that stuns in its simple complexity. Today, remember that the bad times, are part of your journey too. They are part of your story. So own them – never let them own you. These challenges that you face? You are supposed to be facing them. You are supposed to come out victorious. This is just another chapter in your book. Never I had to take multiple breaks just so I could read through my tears! Every wrinkle, a year survived. Every age spot, a day that the sun shone on you. Some women believe that as they age, they LOSE their looks. Oh my friends how wrong this is.
