About this deal

Yellowish-orange colour with pasty consistency might mean the development of liver disease or biliary issues. When I first saw the image, I did manage to correctly identify it, but only by a virtual coin toss between Splendid and Variegated Fairy-wrens. Growing up in southern Victoria, where only Superb Fairy-wrens occur, I never had much need to commit the subtleties of female fairy-wren identification to memory. The same is true for birders in Tasmania where Superb Fairy-wren is the sole representative of the fairy-wren clan. Almost everywhere else in the country has at least two species living alongside each other, and someone living in Perth or Port Augusta could conceivably see five species of fairywren in a day! In some cases, even separating the gaudily coloured males of species such as Variegated and Blue-breasted Fairy-wrens can be challenging, so how to approach those females which tend to be variations on the theme of inconspicuous brown? If you’ve found yourself experimenting with baking recently, then you’re probably already pretty familiar with this particular shade. The only real difference between the two of them is that Grayish Brown is slightly darker. This difference in saturation is the result of a slightly lower red, green, and blue value that pushes the shade away from the lighter or brighter side of the color spectrum. Saddle brown is a dark, warm shade of brown. It is similar in color to russet, but a little lighter and warmer.

Coffee is a dark, cool shade of brown with a somewhat grayish undertone. It is cooler than dark brown. The low end of the scale represents higher purity, such as that of commercially available fine chemicals. Conversely, a ten on the browning index suggests the purity of the sludge that accumulates at the bottom of a solvent waste bottle. Like most “rules” in chemistry, this index is a sweeping generalisation riddled with exceptions and inconsistencies. It is quite possible to obtain a compound that is both pure and brown, just as it is possible to have colourless impurities. However, it is more likely that a nine on the browning index is a shitshow at heart, as well as on the surface. Because each sample is shitter than the last, this index is technically a logarithmic scale.

Golden brown is a medium to dark warm shade of brown with a hint of cool, natural gold. It is similar to ginger, but a little paler and cooler. Brandy may not be as popular today as it was before the rise of Transatlantic trade, but it still reserves a spot in history as a rich, highly concentrated spirit that’s best served warm on a cold night. I am not going to try and explain why this song is so amazing; if you listen to only one of the songs provided, let it be this one and form your own connection to it.
