Unlike ASUS’ model, the XV242F won’t have a dedicated G-SYNC module but rely on the traditional scaler and Adaptive-Sync protocols for variable refresh rate via AMD FreeSync Premium and NVIDIA G-SYNC Compatible technologies. At the rear of the monitor, there’s a hexagon RGB LED pattern that can glow in 21 different colors and various patterns. However, unlike LG’s previous RGB implementations (Sphere Lighting), it cannot be synchronized with on-screen video and audio. The main difference between the two is that the Predator XP32 includes Nvidia G-Sync support and Nvidia Reflex, making this a good monitor for those that play a lot of first-person shooters like Valorant. While the XP32 FP includes AMD FreeSync Pro, USB-C power delivery support, and an HDMI 2.1 port, allowing you to game at 4K 120Hz when connecting a PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, or a graphics card that supports the HDMI 2.1, like the GeForce RTX 3080.

The second-gen Samsung QD-OLED panel also uses a slightly different subpixel layout for better text clarity, which will in addition to the display’s high pixel density minimize text fringing associated with these panels. It also has a semi-glossy screen finish for clearer image quality in comparison to matte coatings. Unfortunately, Samsung has yet to share pricing and release dates for both the Odyssey Neo G8 and Odyssey Ark.
In my opinion, the 32GQ950 does have a single overdrive mode experience, and both the Normal and Fast modes would qualify for this. Variable overdrive would have taken it to the next level if it could combine the benefits of both modes, but realistically the two options we do have both provide a great experience. The Normal mode had slightly lower cumulative deviation on average across the refresh range, and in my opinion looks similar to the Fast mode but with less overshoot artifacts, so it's the mode I'd choose. But if you have a preference for speed, the Fast mode is also decent. For color performance the 32GQ950 has very similar wide gamut capabilities to other LG monitors using LG panels. We get 98% DCI-P3 coverage, which is dead on what LG claims and a great result for that color space and a lot of wide gamut content. However there's no meaningful extension into Adobe RGB, so it's not a great monitor if you need that color space. Overall we get 76% Rec. 2020 coverage which these days is a good but mid table result. Default Color Performance It features a 0.03ms response time speed, a 144Hz refresh rate, a 5120×1440 screen resolution, a 1,000-nit peak brightness, a 1800R screen curvature and an integrated heatsink for better burn-in resistance and higher brightness. Besides the infinite contrast ratio and instantaneous pixel response time, the monitor also offers a high peak brightness of up to 1000-nits for 3% highlights in HDR and 250-nits for a full-white field in both HDR and SDR with Uniform Brightness enabled. HP announced a 44.5″ 5120×1440 165Hz ultrawide monitor with a 1500R curved VA panel, sporting a 3000:1 contrast ratio, a 3ms GtG specified response time speed, a 400-nit peak brightness and 99% sRGB color gamut.
It also supports hardware calibration and AMD FreeSync Premium and NVIDIA G-SYNC Compatible VRR technologies. The ASUS PG32UQXE variant specifies HDMI 2.1, but we don’t know what features and bandwidth it will support since HDMI 2.0 has been essentially renamed to HDMI 2.1 thus causing confusion. Compared to other monitors at their max refresh and using the best overdrive setting, the 32GQ950 performs really well for an LCD. It gets close to the Odyssey Neo G7 from Samsung, delivering slightly slower performance and slightly more overshoot, but these products are similar. It offers a definite step above other 32" 4K offerings and delivers speed similar to, if not better than, most 27" IPS LCDs that we've praised in the past, so that's really nice to see from a new 32" panel that haven't always offered the best motion performance.
