I’ve run testing on all six notebooks and ranked them best-to-worst in a variety of categories. Interestingly, there wasn’t one brand that came in first place in all the categories. There are definitely clear winners and losers, but the standings on each competition are very interesting. Here are the categories I’m using to rank these brands.

I jumped into an A&O after buying a Leuchtuurm and being seriously disappointed by the paper quality. This A4 Ryman Card is suitable for most types of printers, including inkjet, copier and laser machines and due to its weight is perfect for printing invitations, certificates, menus and other documents that require a light weight card. I love my A&O, although I’m not hugely arty so don’t use watercolour or anything but it was expensive. For me personally, QiHeng’s designs just still seem just too similar to A&O for me to be comfortable with them.

For sure, you have often heard people saying that the higher the GSM, the better. However, let us tell you that this is NOT necessarily true. GSM is not used to measure quality. It is only used to measure paper weight and nothing more. I just get my scribbles that matter but now I can really see that it is very rough paper, and it feathers a lot like in the photo of the archer and olive that you got. I am very disappointed, I wish i could see this post sooner. I almost didn’t include this section because it’s more subjective than it is information based on hard-hitting research.
