About this deal

I’ve run testing on all six notebooks and ranked them best-to-worst in a variety of categories. Interestingly, there wasn’t one brand that came in first place in all the categories. There are definitely clear winners and losers, but the standings on each competition are very interesting. Here are the categories I’m using to rank these brands.

Promotional discounts cannot be used on Office Papers unless stated otherwise. Due to the competitive prices of our Office Papers we are unable to include these in promotional offers or our Trade Discount. If you are looking to buy a large quantity of Office Paper we can offer pallets here. This is excellently detailed! I jumped into an A&O after buying a Leuchtuurm and being seriously disappointed by the paper quality. This A4 Ryman Card is suitable for most types of printers, including inkjet, copier and laser machines and due to its weight is perfect for printing invitations, certificates, menus and other documents that require a light weight card. I love my A&O, although I’m not hugely arty so don’t use watercolour or anything but it was expensive. I’ve been looking for a cheaper alternative for when my current journal is full and this has given me some great options tho think about! Thanks so much!! I didn’t think about it like that in terms of manufacturing (I don’t know much about that process), but I have other cloth cover journals with a metallic debossed design (Baron Fig) that are not similar at all to A&O’s designs. For me personally, QiHeng’s designs just still seem just too similar to A&O for me to be comfortable with them.

Have you ever bought something that you don’t need but you needed to have it because it was beautiful or cool? No? Just me? I’m a graphic designer as my day job – which extends to the rest of my life, of course. Design thinking is part of my DNA and I notice the way things are created, decorated, and presented So I notice the way notebooks are designed and also the design options of covers. In the next section, there’s a line on the chart that talks about the cover options, but I wanted to mention that in more detail here. See, if I take out the 2 alcohol markers from the list then there’s nothing left to “compare” because all these notebooks did just fine with all these pens. There’s virtually no ghosting in any of the notebooks.

You see these on average promotional posters such as product posters in stores and movie posters as well as on low-cost flyers. This QiHeng has the same luxurious feeling of Archer & Olive and Tekukor with the linen cover and metal hot-stamped emblem. It’s a notebook that costs half the price of the most expensive options in this review but the quality is equal when it comes to the actual construction of the notebook. The hot-stamp emblem on the front is durable and holds up to my fingernail scratch test. There’s also no problem with the notebook lying flat when open. So this process was really difficult for me. Once I finished the testing and evaluated the results and gave each one their score, I needed to rank them from best to worst. In looking at the art supplies that failed and figured out that there were two that didn’t perform well in any of the books – both were the heavy alcohol-based supplies.GSM paper is the common option for printing budget-friendly promotional campaigns in events like conventions and tradeshows because it is less prone to wrinkling Paper weight has a huge impact on the overall look and feel of your print materials as well as the buying decisions of your customers. They help make a statement. For instance, you want your business cards to be professional, vibrant, impactful, and sturdy. Thus, you should use paper with a higher GSM to achieve this goal. Again, note that paper GSM is not directly related to print quality. It is more on what you are going to use it for because some paper weights are more suitable for certain applications. Hopefully, this guide was able to help you better understand what GSM is. Based on all the chatter, you’d think there were only two notebooks in the whole wide world that have 160gsm dotted paper designed specifically for bullet journal enthusiasts. Those two would be Archer & Olive and Scribbles That Matter. But I was convinced that there had to be more than just those two. You know … brands without a massive marketing budget.

For sure, you have often heard people saying that the higher the GSM, the better. However, let us tell you that this is NOT necessarily true. GSM is not used to measure quality. It is only used to measure paper weight and nothing more. I just get my scribbles that matter but now I can really see that it is very rough paper, and it feathers a lot like in the photo of the archer and olive that you got. I am very disappointed, I wish i could see this post sooner. I almost didn’t include this section because it’s more subjective than it is information based on hard-hitting research. But I’m going to chatter on anyway. Archer & Olive

Watercolor paint dry-ish – another application of watercolor paint but with this time with less wet and I dabbed it with a paper towel to soak up any excess water and then let it air dry
