About this deal

While the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower is gaining momentum all the time, we still have a long way to go to ensure full accessibility for disabled people, and it starts with removing the stigma associated with disabilities and health conditions of all kinds. I’m open about my disabilities, but I’m aware that not everyone is in a position to be. The 'Hidden Disabilites Campaign' is run by 'Sunflower Holding Limited'. This company aim to make travel and public spaces more accessible using these simple lanyards. Since it's launch in 2016, businesses from every sector have been joining the global Sunflower network - ranging from retail, tourism, and transport - including over 200 airports, railway networks, coach and bus services and ferries, education (universities, schools and colleges), healthcare, central and local government agencies to football teams, theme parks, theatres and financial institutions. Air Cadet Distinguishing and Training badges are to be worn as stated below. Unauthorised badges or insignia are not to be worn on Air Cadet uniform. Badges on the Brassard

Hotjar stores user active viewports IDs. Stores an expirationTimestamp that is used to validate active viewports on script initialization. We recognise that some individuals will want to have a lanyard ahead of arriving on campus, therefore students can request a lanyard to be posted to them via ‘askUCL’. The Invisible Disabilities Sunflower lanyard scheme is an initiative designed to act as a discreet sign that somebody has an invisible disability and requires additional assistance while out in public. Lanyards are ideal for carrying ID cards and passes. Typically these are carried in flexible pvc wallets or rigid plastic card holders that protect the card and attach to the lanyard. We can supply these with or without custom printed card inserts depending on your requirements. To see the options available first select a style of card holder. Student Support and Wellbeing will then post a lanyard out to you. I already have a sunflower lanyard; can I use that?

The distinguishing badge (Air Training Corps) is to be worn centrally on the brassard, immediately below the identification badge. This week we’re introducing the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower Lanyard Scheme into stores. The initiative acts as a discreet sign that somebody has a hidden disability. If you have a hidden disability and want a lanyard, please collect one free from the customer service desk,’ the retailer’s tweet reads. When only one of these badges is worn, it is to be worn centrally, 1cm above the lower edge of the patch. The scheme was introduced at UCL following requests from disabled staff and students. Please note that wearing of the sunflower lanyard is optional. I wear one because I’m autistic and type 1 diabetic. The reason it’s so helpful for my autism is because I’ve learned to ‘mask’ my autistic traits so well over the years that I often pass as neurotypical. This can put me in humiliating, or even dangerous, situations when I start acting in unexpected ways. For example, if I’m overwhelmed and I start stuttering or losing speech altogether, or if I start pacing or fidgeting, or if I have to leave a situation at an unexpected time. The lanyard takes a lot of pressure off, as I don’t have to worry so much about what people think of me and whether they assumed I was being rude, so I can just focus on getting myself to a place of comfort or safety. The Communications Badge is to be worn on the brassard below the classification badge, or if one has been awarded, immediately below the Leadership Badge. this badge is only worn in this space where higher priority badges have not been gained.
