About this deal

The bar (which gets its name from the bills that would get “soggy” as travelers waded thorugh the water onto the beach from their boats) has become a Mecca of sorts for Caribbean aficionados, an unmissable stop on any sailing jaunt in the Virgin Islands, a place often serenaded by Kenny Chesney in his odes to the green-hilled islands of the northeastern Caribbean. Finish off by grating fresh nutmeg on top. You can also use pre-grated nutmeg, although fresh will be more fragrant. This typically makes a nice, slightly brown Painkiller. The Pusser’s Rum will be enough to cut through the sweetness, without being too overpowering. If you’d like a less boozy painkiller, simply reduce the amount of rum. Step 4: Add Your Painkiller Mix Strawberry Rum Punch features a combination of sparkling wine [ 1], white rum, ginger beer, and strawberries–a great drink for any occasion, anytime, and anywhere.

Instructions: Combine all the ingredients in your blender until smooth. Pour into your chilled highball glass and garnish with a pineapple slice or maraschino cherry. Let’s get to making this popular mixed rum drink. Here’s the Soggy Dollar Painkiller recipe with fresh nutmeg on top, but if you add a little extra cream of coconut, I believe it’s even better. The first step is to fill your chosen drinking glass about 3/4 full of ice. Then transfer the ice to another (preferably clear) cup for making your drink. Step 3:Add Rum Disregard the almond milk container – we used it as a makeshift vessel for our Painkiller mix! Shake up any premade mix before pouring, as ingredients may have separated. Then pour the mix into the glass over the rum, all the way to the top of the ice.

It’s likely some of the rum in the bottle will come from Cruzan Distillery based at St Croix, US Virgin Isles. I’d also suggest maybe some Barbados and Trini rum is in there. Beyond that, I doubt there is any Jamaican or any kind of real Pot Still heavy rum or blend. It’s all just very column like. Light and a little sweet. To drink these at the beach, the simplest drinking vessel is the tried and true red Solo cup. However, we’ve found that these cups with lids help keep our drinks cooler and prevent sand from blowing into them. Still, it’s a strong liquor, with high proof that has the potential to hit you hard, especially if you are not an experienced drinker. Considering that, when mixed with the juices and all the rum will hide well, you could easily be a few drinks in when you realize that and it might be too late. Hence, you might want to look for other alternatives. Other dark rums like Myer’s and Mount Gay will do a good job of replacing Pusser’s rum, and you might also want to consider Lemon Hart. Instructions: In your blender, mix the rums and strawberries and blend. Rinse your blender, and combine pineapple juice, banana, and coconut cream; blend well.Instructions: Combine all the ingredients in your shaker with ice. Shake well and pour into your tiki mug with ice. Garnish it with a mint sprig, if desired. Note: Make sure you have a pitcher on hand that is big enough to hold this entire batch. The batch comes to about 90 oz. A three quart container or bigger will hold it. Step 2: Fill a Cup with Ice Here is the original Painkiller recipe. If you can’t be in the islands, the next best thing is to make it at home! Instructions: Combine all the ingredients in your blender with ice except the orange slices. Blend until smooth and pour into glasses. Garnish with orange slices and serve.

PG-13 painkiller — Well, this one’s a non-alcoholic drink, but that doesn’t mean it’s only for kids alone. You could replace the alcohol with any light liquor, especially if you don’t prefer a strong drink. If you’re looking for something lighter, this one's for you. The Dark expression is a blend of Caribbean distillates from Jamaica, the Dominican Republic and Barbados aged in American oak casks.Whilst this rum is a bit rough and ready it is saved by its general “lightness”– it tempts at being quite aggressive on the initial sip but it’s very much like a yappy dog in that it’s bark is far worse than it’s bite. It just sniffs at your trouser leg and can barely make a mark in your jeans. It’s not particularly punchy or hefty but it’s a nicely balanced nose that doesn’t do much wrong to be fair. It doesn’t smell particularly old – I’d guess around 3-5 maybe lower in terms of the overall blend. It’s honest enough though and it isn’t a particularly pricy rum.

Production details are limited, as Soggy Dollar is a blender, not a distiller, and the actual origins of these rums are unknown.Perhaps one of the most famous things from the British Virgin Islands, this Soggy Dollar painkiller recipe has been a popular drink for a long time. Originally made with Pusser’s rum, there are also hints of coconut taste. Honestly, how tropical could this one get? Instructions: In your blender, blend all the ingredients until smooth. Pour in your glasses and garnish with grated nutmeg or shaved chocolate. BEST Tip: Increase the amount of cream of coconut by another 1/2 ounce to 1 ounce for a little more flavor and texture. I personally think it makes a big difference! Since you’re making this at home, feel free to play with it to make your own recipe.
