Recent fashions in design have included metallic colours for all kinds of architectural uses and RAL9006 and RAL9007 have been appropriated for this purpose. It is important to note however that due to the orginal design of the colours and the manufacturing method as outlined above that absolutely no uniformity of finish is achievable using these RAL numbers. Unlike the other 193 colours no two pieces can be made to match seamlessly and in addition the RAL9006 and RAL9007 colours require a transparent top coating to enable usage for design purposes which further adjusts the finished look. As a result of this extra process RAL9006 and RAL9007 are often classified by our suppliers as "special" coatings at a premium price point. Radical Red is just regular red but a little bit more, well, radical. The secret of Radical Red’s color scheme lies in its relatively high amounts of blue pigment. As a result, Radical Red veers slightly towards the purple color scheme, albeit not enough to appear noticeably blue or purple. This is a warm-toned rose red. It has both blue and yellow undertones, so it should be paired with warm, light browns or used to complement cool-toned grays. Oxblood Red is an extremely dark shade of reddish-brown or red that is sometimes referred to as “Temptress Red”. It’s often used in fashion and architecture alike, with shoes in particular coming in many shades of deep red and brown, including the increasingly trendy and desirable shade of Oxblood Red. Yes. The normal issue was that Guards, Shunters, footplate men and station staff got the 3 aspect version (white, red, green) because that was all they needed. Signalboxes were also originally issued with the 3 aspect version but in some cases, and later on after a Rule change, they got the 4 aspect (white, red, green, yellow) version because yellow was needed for handsignalling at some signals. Perway staff got the 4 aspect version because they were likely to be used for handsignalling and fogging duties. As anyone who has ever taken a Bardic apart will know the later versions all came with the 4 colour arrangement internally but it used a different control knob and had an internal stop to prevent it showing yellow.
