About this deal

Battery Capacity (Typical): Typical value tested under third-party laboratory condition. Typical value is the estimated average value considering the deviation in battery capacity among the battery samples tested under IEC 61960 standard. Rated (minimum) capacity is 4370mAh. Actual battery life may vary depending on network environment, usage patterns and other factors.

Samsung responds to customer wishes with the Fan Edition of the S20. The result is a cheaper but still generously equipped smartphone. The 6.5-inch Full-HD+ display offers high contrast. With a 120 Hz refresh rate, it promises to run very smoothly. The high battery capacity increases run-time significantly compared to the S20 Plus. At 4,500 mAh, up to 12 hours of video streaming should be possible. New Inside and Out Face Detection, Smile Detection, Panorama, HDR, Night Mode, Exposure Control, Bokeh Mode, AI Features, Scene Detection, Slow Motion, Time Lapse Like last year’s S10 handsets, the S20 range features Samsung’s reverse wireless charging feature, which enables you to use your S20 to charge other gadgets that support Qi charging. Do you love capturing photos and video after dark? With Galaxy S23 Ultra, you'll love it so much more. The quad-lens setup boasts a head-spinning 200MP Ultra High-Resolution Rear Camera, for unprecedented detail in every picture. It’s worth pointing out that there aren’t any bold color choices here, and these are all relatively subdued options compared to the Galaxy S10 color range. The Aura Red is perhaps the boldest color choice, but that's one of the harder to find versions of the handset. However, pictures looked a touch candy-coloured for my liking, and the iPhone 11 did a better job at capturing more neutral-looking images. The S20 was also insistent on overexposing most images. The differences between the two are night and day as soon as the light begins to fade, too: the S20 looks drab when placed side-by-side with the positively vibrant images from the iPhone 11. The arrival of the Galaxy S20 in shops ushers in the beginning of smartphone launch season, and with the Novel Coronavirus outbreak looming large across the industry, by sheer coincidence Samsung may have won big by being one of the first out of the gate.

The Samsung Galaxy S20 series smartphones are still very capable for all kinds of use today. The main differences between all three models are the battery size, camera setup, display resolution and additional RAM the higher up the series you go. Out of the three models in the Samsung S20 series, the more complete (and more premium) S20 is naturally the Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra. With the Samsung Galaxy S20 Plusyou get a slightly better battery life and chip compared to the Samsung S20.The Samsung Galaxy S20 Plus doesn’t look much different to its predecessor, but this is the sleekest device in a long line of flagships – and that isn’t a bad look. Take breathtaking images every time thanks to the triple rear camera set-up. Featuring three advanced lenses: 50MP Wide + Folded 48MP Tele + 48MP Ultra-Wide Main Camera. Snap a sharp selfie when you need it most using the 10.5MP front camera. Shoot high-quality scenes thanks to 4k and 60fps video shooting capabilities. That’s not especially remarkable, but it seems that battery life is more or less keeping pace with innovation: you can eke out a bit more life by reducing the display resolution or dropping the refresh rate down to 60Hz; conversely, you can max-out the screen tech that’s on offer, but battery life will suffer accordingly. The phone’s speakers are pretty good – they’re not top-end, either in terms of audio quality or maximum volume, but they’re fit for purpose whether you’re gaming, watching a movie or just listening to music from the phone. Samsung Galaxy S20 FE software This is a pretty ingenious solution for letting you capture both solo and group selfies without having multiple front-facing snappers, and we wouldn’t be surprised to see other companies adopt it.

With an IP68 rating, this device can be submerged in water for up to 30 minutes at 6 metres. It is also resistant to dust, splashes, and spills. The camera cutout remains, but it now mirrors the more inconspicuous design seen first on the Note 10. I didn’t find that the notch got in the way at all, whether watching videos or playing games. Most apps are now better accustomed to deal with the cutout – for example, you can force apps such as Netflix to cover the entire panel. Camera – A huge improvement over the Galaxy S10 The 120Hz refresh rate is here though, which the display updates 120 times per second, so twice as fast as the 60Hz ‘standard’ of many other smartphones (including the Note 20). A higher refresh rate makes motion look smoother, whether you’re playing games or swiping through menus, although depending on what you’re doing you won’t necessarily notice the difference. It’s worth pointing out that 120Hz is the maximum setting, and you can drop down to 60Hz in the settings if you want to save on battery life.

What to expect when buying a refurbished Samsung Galaxy S20?

Under the hood is a powerful chipset, either a Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 or Exynos 990 (where you live will determine which you’ll get) as well as either 8GB or 12GB of RAM, depending on whether you buy the 4G or 5G phone. And some people will only be able to buy the 5G phone – you can read on below to find out which versions are available in your region. And when you do come to charge the phone the included 25w charger will take you from 0-100% in about 65 minutes. This increases to 90 minutes if you’re using a slower charger from an older Samsung phone or a generic PD charger and about 3 hours if you’re charging wirelessly. This might not be as fast as the Oppo Find X2 Pro which can get a full charge in 40 minutes, but it’s a big improvement nevertheless. Software – Samsung’s One UI 2.1 is its best software yet Yes, the S20 phones join several other late-2019 and 2020 models in adding the option to refresh the screen more frequently. Most phones operate at 60Hz (meaning the screen refreshes 60 times per second), but on the S20 Plus and its siblings you can opt to up this to 120Hz. The Samsung Galaxy S20 Plus was launched in the US, UK and Australia in March 2020. There are two variants of the phone; one with 5G, and another with only 4G. While 8K recording is limited to 24fps, it has one big benefit: you’re able to crop and edit videos without sacrificing quality if you’re exporting to 4K or 1080p.

Capture every detail you can imagine with the S23 Ultra's quad-lens setup. It boasts a head-spinning 200MP Ultra High-Resolution Rear Camera, for immaculate detail in every image.

The issue is that 120Hz display. I managed 90-120 minutes less screen-on time with this option enabled during my week with the phone than when it was set to 60Hz (about four hours). Keep things at 60Hz and FHD+ and you’ll easily make it through the day without much fuss.
