About this deal

The official scent pyramid lists only three notes of amber, tea and citrus. I also detect a hint of musk and sandalwood. The composition overall is well-blended and easy to wear. The projection is moderate to soft, however, the longevity is surprisingly decent lasting approximately seven hours on my skin. Until I tested oud Satin mood the other day. Wow, it's really pure at the beginning, extremely animalistic and just too much for me, but after 4-5 hours it develops in a similar way. There is no rose listed in Rosewood but I am pretty sure it is available. The creative concept aims to portray the meeting of the old with the new, the trees with the arid landscapes under the scorching sun. And this contrast is made through a sweet and woody fragrance with a leathery and warm aspect. To do so were combined notes of Australian rosewood, Sicilian mandarin, Indian cardamom, benzoin from Laos, vanilla from the Comoros Islands, Indonesian patchouli, and Australian Buddha wood (Eremophila Mitchelli), which is also called "false sandalwood” and its essential oil has nuances that resemble whiskey.

Also, if you don't know what you're smelling how can you critique a scent? Did anyone ever smell Palisander Rosewood? I haven't. Guilty. NO idea what it lends to this overall concoction. This is a pretty good scent with good performance. From their lineup, I can't stand more than half the scents. This one though, and I'm smelling it right now, is growing on me. Kind of barbershop on the dry down. And I don't mean it smells like brut, i mean it smells like powder and creamy shaving soap with a touch of spice. Dang I thought the cardamom went away, but it's still there. That must be the "medicinal" note people are talking about. But wait! It’s not that type of rosewood which perfumers use, with its floral, slightly rose-like odour: that’s from the Aniba rosaeodora tree, better known as Brazilian rosewood. It takes a massive amount of the tree’s wood to produce the oil: each tree’s said to yield just 1%, by weight, of oil to wood. With such huge amounts of timber felled to extract teensy qualities of oil, it’s no wonder that Brazilian rosewood trees – which are grown in the rainforests of Brazil, Mexico and Peru – are now protected, under CITES (the convention which safeguards endangered flora and fauna). It’s also on the official list of endangered flora of Brazil. So: how come rosewood still turns up on ingredients list…? Clever perfumers know that other woods deliver similar effects, and can be used to replace its richness. I smelled this couple of years ago for the first time on my brother-in-law's girfriend and had to try it for myself. Yes, it was nice but powdery scents are not my thing so I never bought it. Fast forward to this weekend when I was at BR and saw some travel sizes of their fragrances and there were few Rosewood left. Sold! It seem to be more of a colder weather scent, but I wonder if it would work in a warmer weather, specially in the night time.In contrast to some people below i think this is very much in the same vein as LO and PO - they certainly share the same Dior-oud note and where PO is a bit drier and LO is a bit rounder than OR, the dry down of all three are fairly similar (except for the extra animality in this one).

There are subtle differences between all these scents but rosewood doesn’t have that strange metallic harsh base that both montales and the mancera have. Desert Rosewood is easily my favorite from Goldfield & Banks line-up, probably because of having a lot of my favorite notes and being most unique to my nose. I already used almost all of the sample, I think it is a full bottle worthy. We were at Penhaligons and of course Bergdorf Goodman could not be missing. But in the end I flew home without new perfume! None that I wanted to afford laughed at me that hard. It was great to test everything, so I thought I would get that at home too. I know this perfume is very hard to get if you want to test it, but if you have the opportunity please do! Something bitter and snobbish that only someone like a sommelier would love and average people pretend to like because an expert says that it is tasteful or elegant or whatever.performance is very good / slightly above average. i was able to detect it on my arm close to the skin in the morning 14 hours after application. projection was very good also. not as strong as oud ispahan. Diffuser Oil: A lot of our customers use our oils with home electric diffusers, but fiddling with the roller ball top can be an inconvenience so we are happy to bring to our range 15ml dropper bottles, simply add drops as per your requirements and enjoy the fragrance, less hassle, less mess.

For me rosewood is the more portable (and better) Oud Satin Mood. The great comment from Eyris before me also compares these 2 fragrances. And yet, there's something about it that I just can't get enough of with this stunning scent trail. I can't notice bergamot here.I wouldn't guess tea either but now that I know what I'm looking for,I can see it's like a sugary tea a bit similar to the tea note in Flowerbomb but not as sharp as that one.I can strangely detect something like rose too,a powdery rose and there's also this lovely softley powdered marshmallow vanilla-amber combo which I adore. I can also feel there's a dry, woody base. something like cashmere.maybe this is supposed to be the rosewood but it's not similar to what I expected(I can recognize the rosewood note thanks to Dior Dune which is a real rosewood-prominent fragrance. and this is not like the rosewood in Dior Dune) For the Reed Diffuser Refill: You will receive a 100ml plastic bottle filled with a special compound blended with a fragrance of your choice. The Reed diffuser refill can be poured into the bottle you already have and use the same reeds. Please Note: You will not receive the glass bottle or reeds shown in the picture as that is for illustration purposes only. Oud Rosewood is a fragrance whose name alone powerfully calls to mind images and music, and stirs deep memories. Noble, powerful and moving, in a few short letters Oud Rosewood unleashes its rich scent fueled by captivating contrasts.Such a soft, delicate fragrance at the same time, you can clearly feel the oud note (which is present in the top note and always resonates nicely until the end) and the durability is also enormous, has really impressed me very much! Madagascar vanilla that is slightly smoky, definitely not a cheap drugstore vanilla with a subliminal musk and rose - I am in fragrance heaven! Long story short,Rosewood is a heavenly, smooth, cozy, comforting, ageless beauty in my book. it's wearable anywhere, anytime though I prefer it's cuddly, delightful, warm sweetness in cooler days and nights.it's a very difficult to find perfume where I live so I feel like I am the only proud owner of this beauty. I own quite a few Banana Republic fragrances as I find them very pleasing and inexpensive. They're not the most unique scents, but they do offer a variety of wearable, signature-worthy fragrances for the modern woman.
