About this deal

Clothes Moths are part of the Tineola Bisselliella species of moth, sometimes referred to as the Common Clothes Moth. They are a textile pest which feed on 'keratin', a substance found in natural fibres such as wool, cashmere, silk, fur, feathers and hides.Clothes moths tend to be shiny dark brown to buff in colour and are slow in flight often tending to run or hop about at floor level rather than fly.Clothes moth infestations are becoming increasingly common and can be extremely destructive. It is the larvae that tend to cause the most devastation, causing literally millions of pounds worth of damage to clothing each year in the UK alone.

The TV presenter Kirstie Allsopp recommends freezing clothes to kill moths’ eggs. In the attic, though, I have freestanding rails with clothes, and put the fumer underneath the clothes there.Place canister(s) spaced out on the floor surface on a heat resistant surface e.g. a plate on top of a sheet of aluminium foil 50cm x 50cm. IMPORTANT: THIS PRODUCT MAY EMIT SOME SPARKS UPON IGNITION. SMOKE ALARMS MAY BE AFFECTED. Some fumers haven’t lit easily, and the larger Formula P+ Fogger (centre in the picture above, white cap) is hard to use. It has the advantage of not having to be lit, but you have to press the top and then turn to secure it, which is not easy to do while smoke is escaping all around you.

Never use more than 1 fogger in a room. A single 6oz fogger is usually enough to cover 25ft by 25ft feet of space. You will need to first find the primary source of the infestation. Moth larvae spend their time looking for food sources. Since your ceiling doesn't offer many of those, chances are, the larvae are coming from somewhere else. Obviously, kill and wipe away any larvae that you see crawling on the ceiling using residual moth-killing sprays. Then, do some detective work and figure out where exactly the primary infestation resides. How to get rid of moth larvae in kitchen spaces: After the initial eradication phase, you can also introduce a prophylactic routine to prevent a resurgence of the clothes moth infestation. What do moths eat? You then close the doors and windows, and leave for 2-3 hours. The tailor I spoke to said they left it over the weekend. I usually leave it from morning til evening. The smoke kills the larvae and moths, and leaves no residue or smell on the clothes.

Moth Fogger Home Depot

Lavender, mothballs and in fact any other scent. I once read that actually any strong smell would put off moths, and so I sprayed cedar balls with various perfumes. Same effect as above. HOW TO USE: Prepare the area to be treated, close all windows, remove all people, plants, and animals, and ensure fish tanks are securely sealed to prevent smoke penetration. Read the product safety information, place the smoke bomb on a heat-resistant surface (approximately 300mm x 300mm or larger), light the smoke bomb, and leave the room. Keep the room sealed for at least 2 hours or one hour per 1.5-metre ceiling height. Open doors and windows and ventilate the room thoroughly.
