About this deal

The chassis of the Trophy 3.5 buggy is made from 6061 aluminum for an excellent combination of strength and light weight. The low weight allows for faster acceleration, and the durability means you can have the confidence to pull off insane stunts and jumps! The HPI Trophy range of off-road racers has been updated with the latest HPI Nitro Star 3.5 v2 pullstart engine. Also including 2.4GHz radio technology, waterproof servos and a waterproof receiver & battery compartment! The Trophy 3.5 comes in Ready to Run trim and includes a 2.4Ghz radio system that has a decent amount of adjustments for a buggy in this price range. It is a great value included with the buggy that is sure to fit the bill for bashers and new buggy owners. When I first showed up to test out the HPI Racing Trophy 3.5 buggy I was greeted with a nice surprise. The first thing I noticed was a very well built vehicle that looked much more like a race buggy than your typical “drive around and have fun” buggy. The fact is, if not for a pre-printed body, and a pull start engine you could easily mistake the Trophy 3.5 for a full on race buggy.

If you have lost your manual, then you can find online versions here for any HPI product: http://www.hpieurope...ons.php?lang=en The HPI Racing Trophy 3.5 Buggy is a radio controlled toy that is designed for off-road racing enthusiasts. It features a durable and lightweight aluminum housing material, ensuring resilience against rough terrains. With its dimensions of 518 millimeters in length, 300 millimeters in width, and 180 millimeters in height, this 1:8 scale buggy offers a compact yet powerful performance. The car is your typical 1/8 scale buggy design with 3 gear differentials that can be filled with different diff oils to change the handling of the buggy. This drive train design has also proven to be near built proof over many years. The Trophy 3.5 now features a cool waterproof electronics compartment for the receiver and receiver batteries and a pair of HPI SF-10W waterproof servos and finally a water-resistant air filter cover that allows you to keep running the Trophy 3.5 in truly extreme conditions!Hope this helps, as I was also starting to get fed up with her non starting, but its a great feeling when you finally get the car running around. Thanks for that DLD, I am swayed by a starter box and thinking about it were I plan to drive around to I will need to drive there so power isn't an issue really. There are essentially three reasons you might want to buy a used HPI Trophy 3.5 Nitro Buggy; you may be a collector, looking to restore and display it; restore and sell for a profit; or simply restore and race an iconic vintage model. Personally, I used to get a buzz out of restoring an old clapped-out model, installing modern day electrics and maybe a few hop-ups, then showing the gang at our local club, just how competitive those old models could still be.

Examine the drive shafts for wear and replace as required. If possible, change them for titanium. The steel shafts wear and bend too easily. I have had the use of a starterbox to help the break in process ( on the 4th tank atm) but didn't have to use it from tank 3 as she fired up on just the pull start (be it after the 10th, 15th pull) test will be if she fires up again now after 3-4 day break without the starterbox. Featuring a fresh new chassis look with orange anodised components, the HPI Trophy buggy looks better than ever! Ready to go straight from the box, just charge up your batteries and youre ready to crush the opposition! Theres also the Associated rc8, Xray 808 hyper 9 ect... again who you ask will give a different response. Iv owned a few associate cars (b44, tc5r to name a few) and tbh that put me off for life, but thats me. The 808 looks stunning but i think its dated to some now, but they released an overhal kit to upgrade it.A fantastic list of hop-ups can be found here, it also includes non-HPI stuff: http://www.beatyourt...ium-hop-up-list
