Brandy and cognac are truly a connoisseur's choice when it comes to distilled spirits. Their smooth, warming character makes them excellent for sipping after meals, while VSOP (very superior old pale) is best served as an apéritif. Or you can give a proper end to your dinner with a glass of calvados. Sweet and fruity, this apple brandy pairs well with rich desserts like chocolate cake and tiramisu. What you end up with is a complex spirit that has a smooth, slightly sweet, slightly fruity, and oaky flavor profile. E&J XO Brandy was also added to the team in the 1990s and is the most aged of their offerings. XO stands for extra old and means that the youngest brandy in this blend was aged for at least six years. E&J VSOP Grand Blue Brandy has been offered since the 1990s and the VSOP stands for very superior old pale. The youngest brandy in this blend was aged for at least 4 years.
