We absolutely can’t get enough of kitchens and eating areas with wood-effect designs – particularly when accented with copper! As can be seen from the projects above, many features can be designed in to a copper or brass worktop. Chlorides such as bleach or common salt and acids of any kind can damage all grades of copper surfaces. If a spillage occurs rinse immediately and thoroughly with plenty of fresh water and then dry with a soft cloth.

What Type of Metal Worktop or Bartop?

There’s something to be said for the way these two natural materials complement each other – the wood with its rough matt texture and the copper for its smooth shiny appearance – creating a perfect balance. Although the sheets come directly from the mill, copper by its very nature is a relatively soft material and may have some minor marks, scratches and dents in it from new. Where a welding process has taken place, there could be some minor pitting. This is quite normal and a natural by-product of the welding process and will blend in over time.

We find slate texture or, more widely, grey coloured worktops are popular choices when people are looking to complement copper accents in the kitchen.
