About this deal

Gibbons, who worked as a copywriter at a marketing agency before leaving to focus on her career as a children’s author, added: “Being published by HarperCollins and working with Chris Riddell is a dream come true – not just for grown-up Fran, but for my 12-year-old self. That’s how old I was when I first had the idea for the story. I still can’t quite believe that it’s going to be read by other children – and maybe a few adults too.” When the girls escape from a boring afternoon with Grandma into the teahouse gardens, they find a door in a giant tree trunk and enter the magical Kingdom of Yaroslav. The illustrations by Chris Riddell were what drew me to the book at first, and they really helped to add to the reading experience! I loved that they were sprinkled through out the book and it reminded me of reading Enid Blyton's stories as a child! ✨😌 The writing style is fun and exciting, which I feel would be a plus point for young readers. The world-building is fabulous to say the least, and the characters are so so adorable and lovable. And to add an extra feather to the cap, it is illustrated by Chris Riddell. Well, what more can one ask for!

It's been a while since I have enjoyed a book so much. It reminded me a lot of Philip Pullman's Northern Lights trilogy. The children become pawns in a continuing game of greed, treachery, lies, murder and deceit within this once harmonious place. Although Miro’s loyalty to his uncle keeps him ignorant of what he really is, the truth remains ugly. Miro, Imogen and Marie embark on a quest which tests their courage and friendship, with each character learning important lessons about themselves which change their outlook and behaviours. They learn to take responsibility for their own actions. They identify values they expect others to demonstrate and they consider whether they are living those values themselves. By the end of the story, we see that these children have transformed in numerous ways, becoming much more likeable characters. We want them to succeed and find happiness. Once you depart, head up and Valere will realize her prophecy about walking on water is talking about this very moment. Oh my! Step on the watery bridge and proceed over, ready for the Skyward Shrine. And that also brings this mammoth chapter to a close! << Songshroom MarshBut what they find in the lands beyond will change everything again, and see them facing dangers they could never have imagined.

Suddenly, they are trapped and it’s all Marie’s fault. But on the other side of the gate, there is a new world, different to theirs. A world where they meet Miro, a boy dressed in weird clothes, claiming he is the prince of this kingdom. A kingdom, where dangers lurk at night. Garl, remembering the prophecy given to him by the Oracle of Tides, will ask for a Flask of Borrowed Time. This will allow him to continue – but only for a limited period of time. This was one cute, little MG fantasy. Right from the title to the very plot, this beautiful story is quite enough to satiate one's appetite for more magical adventures and lost realms and kingdoms. Cael will show up and reveal that he’s got the crystal all ready to go but we need to charge it up first. Resh’an is going to sit this one out, given it’s a fight against a Dweller, so it’s up to the four of you to try and defeat this menacing foe. In addition, the Earth’s daily rotation around its axis makes it seem like that the stars close to the celestial poles revolve around the pole once each day. Because of this, constellations and stars close to the celestial poles, such as the Big Dipper, can be used to estimate time during the night. The North Star

With the Acolytes defeated, there’s a bigger problem afoot. The Dweller of Strife has awoken. Proceed into the next room, save and rest up. It’s highly advisable here to cook up as many dishes that replenish lots of HP and MP together. Bouillabaisse is a personal favourite, as is Mooncradle Fish Pie. When you’re ready, head out into the next area on the right. Because neither the celestial poles nor the direction of the Earth’s rotation axis change, any stars and constellations close to one of the celestial poles will be observable from some latitudes throughout the year all day long. Hailed as "the arrival of a modern classic", the synopsis reads: "As the irrepressible Imogen follows a silver moth to a door in a tree – and through it into another world – children everywhere will wish they could follow in her footsteps…" The creatures and people and places that you meet are described in enough detail for you to feel that you are there, but not too much so that you feel bogged down with information. Each character has its own personality, which you can relate to and believe in. Isabel's worries and struggles are easy to relate to and would help children to understand why people sometimes do what they do. Beautiful art work from Chris Riddell brings some of these characters to life. The story, quite a simple quest idea, takes the reader on a wonderful journey through many new amazing places. The children meet old friends, from the first book, and new. Scary and kind creatures and humans.Imogen and Marie are sisters who in the first book discovered a secret world and they return to this world called Yaroslav through the door in the tree to a whole new Yaroslav. After climbing the ladder, descend down the other side. Don’t interact with the door just yet and instead, keep moving to the left, up and down the ladder to the other side. Here, there’s a chest holding 1x Sturdy Cog. Chris Riddell’s amazing illustrations fuel the imagination, leaving us longing to know what happens next.
