Whiskybase B.V. is registered with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce under no. 52072819. With the reopening of Benromach, Gordon & MacPhail wanted to try this classic approach. To do so, they use mostly medium-peated barley (12 ppm). And the result is, obviously, a lightly peated single malt. It's true what they say about Benromach 10 100° that it's a gorgeous unique Speyside scotch, amongst the finest in any range age and price. Unless mandatory applicable law provides otherwise, your use of and membership to the Service are exclusively governed by Dutch law. We shall first try to settle any dispute over a dram of whisky. A beautifully balanced combination of bourbon casks and Oloroso sherry casks with a slightly peated spirit.

Those who have rated this whisky a 4.. are spot on. Though let me make it clear, this is not just any 4.. this is a strong 4.. a special 4 as this whisky deserves. But it can't go beyond 4 because of its flaws, yet.. ironically, it is the flaws that earn it a .. "special" 4. We may sell, license, transfer, assign or in any other way dispose of the Service (including Members) to any third party without any notification to you, e.g. (but without limitation) in connection with any reorganization, restructuring, merger or sale, or other transfer of assets. No partnership, joint venture, agency, or employment relationship is created as a result of your use of the Service. It is a quality product, perhaps the best 10 year old matured whisky I've ever tried. There is no sign of youth in it whatsoever, it is more like a 12 year old, possibly all the way up to a 14 year old matured scotch. Old Benromach 10 “Only ever matured in the finest oak casks, our signature TEN YEAR OLD single malt delivers delicate forest fruits and creamy malt, a touch of smoke and rich, lasting sherry notes.”– Benromach Benromach 10 Years Tasting Notes Nothing in the Terms shall exclude or limit our liability for fraudulent misrepresentation or for death or personal injury resulting from gross negligence or willful misconduct by us. A few months ago they changed the presentation, which caused a stir again but not in the same way. It may have increased visibility on the shelf, but most agreed it was a slightly strange visual identity for this kind of whisky.

On the palate is a light whisky with a medium body. It has some light wood smoke notes, followed by a fruitier side. A touch of barley and nuts with some baked apple notes. There are also some raisins and a citrus touch. More nuts come forward, with a bit of vanilla and honey. A souvenir of apple pie. The finish is medium and warm, with some smoke notes lingering on the palate. You may find it helpful to take a peek at the flavour wheels here: http://malt-review.com/2015/09/10/whisky-flavour-wheels-and-colour-charts/ and I’d also massively recommend looking at the WSET systematic approach to tasting (designed for wine, mostly, but it feeds very well into spirits too). Our Service is an online platform which provides Members with information (e.g. bottle facts, market-indices, market values and prices) on (mostly) whisky and allows Members to add information to the platform. We do not sell, nor does the Service provide any option to buy, any alcoholic products. When you let it breathe and open up the nose on this is one of the best, very oldskool. Those aromas of freshly roasted coffee beans, nuts and chocolate is truly something to behold.
