About this deal

the ending was so dragged out, it was so unnecessary i thought it was all pretty average but some of this dialogue was so difficult to get through I AM ALSO DONE with reading about first experiences, first loves, FIRST ANYTHING. It is why I don't typically enjoy reading YA anymore. I like characters who have already “found themselves” but have gotten slightly lost along the way and need to be re-directed on the right path. In this book, this main character, was very much a pure angel. She was a virgin, had never really dated, hardly been kissed and just felt like she went on the whole “first journey” of everything where it’s all sparkles, sunshine and rainbows... a lot of firsts that just didn't appeal to me. As a result, I found that I connected a lot more with Will. He seemed a little bit more “damaged" and in need of help with scars that he had to work through. I giggled, sighed, laughed out loud, and even shed some tears. This book awakened so many emotions in me at the same time.

Amelia is fun and quirky but doesn’t seem like a pop star to me, but that’s okay, she’s still an interesting character and the perfect love interest for Noah. I also enjoyed Noah’s sisters and the way they meddled in his life. Practice Makes Perfect is a small town, friends to lovers, fake dating romance that is a fun, cute, tension filled rom-com that had me smiling and giggling throughout.

The names Annie came up with for Will’s full name — this had me dying and when he took pictures of her during the moments when she wasn’t looking bc he thought she deserved pretty pictures of herself and to collect them all for her to have ugh it was so cute I think this bled into another aspect I didn’t like. I want my female main characters to be feisty and be able to stand up for themselves. But she needs to do it for her, and it needs to be driven BY HER… Why is it that this man that she's with is the first person to see who she is and the first person that she can “actually” talk to, WHEN SHE IS SO CLOSE TO HER FAMILY, I wanted her to find herself, and not meet a man as the catalyst to find herself. I'm all for woman empowerment and not being rescued. And it felt like she could only be her true self when she found a guy! And wasn’t able to be herself without him. On top of that, it was sweet, easy going with some profound moments, there’s fake dating involved but it’s not dragged out, and relatable mostly bc of the FMC (hello social anxiety/introvert rep) which Sarah conveyed in a humorous way and I definitely related to Annie on this front. Amelia can't resist falling for the cozy town and her grumpy tour guide, but even Audrey had to leave Rome eventually.

It was deliciously romantic. Kind of like watching a 90s rom-com but with still it having the magic of being a book.' ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ Florist Annie Walker is determined to find someone who complements her life. But after overhearing her latest date describe her as ‘so unbelievably boring’, Annie wonders if the problem might be her. Is it too late to become flirtatious and fun like the leading ladies in her favourite romance movies? Maybe she only needs some practice . . . and Annie has the perfect tutor in mind. Then Noah starts to see a different side of Rae Rose—she’s Amelia: kindhearted and goofy, yet lonely from years in the public eye. He can’t help but get close to her. Soon she’ll have to return to her glamorous life on tour, but until then, Noah will show Amelia all the charming small-town experiences she’s been missing, and she’ll help him open his heart to more. As a lover of classic movies, I have seen Roman Holiday, the movie this book is a loose retelling of, multiple times and am also a huge Audrey Hepburn fan like Amelia. I really enjoyed this aspect of the book and it kept me hanging in even when I struggled to connect to either of the main characters.Definitely better than When in Rome, by a lot. From the first paragraph, I could tell this will be a good one. Annie, is a flower shop owner and I found her to be so charming, relatable and humorous. But there's one thing she is not good at- dating. In comes, Will who is Amelia's bodyguard with tattoos 👀 . Will is sexy, confident and clearly has trust issues. But if there's someone he adores- it's Annie. Upon agreeing to help her practice her dating abilities, the two never realised that there could be something more. When Noah Walker finds Amelia on his front lawn in her broken-down car, he makes it clear he doesn’t have the time or patience for celebrity problems. He’s too busy running the pie shop his grandmother left him and reminding his nosy but lovable neighbors to mind their own damn business. Despite his better judgment, he lets her stay in his guest room—but only until her car is fixed—then she’s on her own.
