About this deal

Measured using a Bodnar 4K HDMI tester, input lag on the QM8 was 13ms, which is an average performance level. That measurement was made with the TCL in Game Master mode, which must be enabled in the System submenu of the Settings menu. With Game Master active, you can call up a transparent game bar overlay that lets you set parameters such as game genre-specific picture modes and shadow enhancement levels, as well as configure an aiming aid.

The TCL 65P639K features 4K resolution, which offers four times the resolution of a Full HD TV. This means you can expect sharper details and more vibrant colors, which is especially noticeable when viewing content such as movies and TV shows. This TV also features HDR technology, which enhances the contrast and brightness of the picture, resulting in a more realistic image. Smart Features When I test TVs, my first step is to spend a few days using it for casual viewing for break-in and to assess the out-of-box picture presets. The next step is to select the most accurate-looking preset (typically labeled Movie or Cinema) and measure the white balance (grayscale), gamma, and color point accuracy using Portrait Displays’ Calman color calibration software. The resulting measurements provide Delta-E values (the margin of error between the test pattern source and what’s shown on-screen) for each category, and they allow for an assessment of the TV’s overall accuracy. This chip helps improve contrast, clarity, colour and motion and also looks after the upscaling of lower-resolution content. HDR format support covers every base, with HDR10, HDR10+, HLG and Dolby Vision IQ as well as IMAX Enhanced all present and correct. TCL 65 Inch TVs redefine the concept of an entertainment haven. Beyond their impressive dimensions, they serve as comprehensive hubs, connecting seamlessly to your devices, apps, and content-sharing platforms. Immerse yourself in an entertainment experience that's expansive and seamless. There is a slightly cloudy look that can sometimes appear with shots and scenes that contain a bold mixture of very bright and very dark content, as the local light controls wrestle with achieving the best balance of local contrast and HDR brightness, but this is fairly rare and subtle enough to not be a major distraction. Those TVs just started rolling out in the US in the form of the new 6-Series R635models and launch alongside new 5-Series TVs that, for the first time ever, use QLEDtechnology. Read our TCL 6 Series QLED review to find out more. Usually, we'd expect a brand to unveil all its plans for the coming year at CES 2021 (the biggest tech expo of the year). However, TCL runs on a slightly different release schedule than many TV brands, which can mean CES was a bit light on concrete information. The TCL 65P639K features voice control, allowing you to control the TV with your voice. You can use the built-in microphone on the remote control to search for content, adjust the volume, and control other functions. The voice control feature is responsive and accurate, making it a convenient way to navigate the TV’s features. TCL has been pretty forthright in recent times about its belief that LED – especiallyMini LED– is the future of TV, rather thanOLED, and the C845K is the brand's latest attempt to put its money where its mouth is. For the last few years you've had to decide between the contrast of OLEDs and the brightness and color saturation of LED-LCDs. Now you don't have to – the TCL 6-Series R635 has the best of both, making it the best TCL TV you can buy. This fact does bring us quite early on to the C845K’s biggest picture weakness, though. Namely, a slightly cloudy look that can sometimes appear with shots and scenes that contain a bold mixture of very bright and very dark content, as the local light controls wrestle with achieving the best balance of local contrast and HDR brightness. If that wasn’t enough to tempt you, it also delivers excellent picture quality. The key words we use to describe the Panasonic TX-65LZ2000B’s picture are balanced and authentic, with it delivering a wonderfully “as the director intended” look to all the movies we threw at it. The TCL 65P639K comes with a 2-year warranty that covers any manufacturing defects. This is a standard warranty period for most TVs in this price range. However, it’s worth noting that some other brands offer longer warranties for their TVs, so if the warranty is an important consideration for you, it’s worth comparing the warranties provided by different brands. VS Other Brands

Google TV is the smart interface of choice for the QM8 Class. (Image credit: Future) TCL QM8 TV review: smart TV & menus The TCL 6-Series is one of our favorite mid-range TV models – and has got a QLED upgrade too (Image credit: TCL) TCL features and formats The QM8's picture is characterized by rich color and strong contrast. (Image credit: Future) TCL QM8 TV review: picture qualityThe best 65-inch TV we've tested is the Samsung QN65S90CAFXZA, commonly known as the S90C. It's an impressive TV that delivers fantastic picture quality and looks amazing with any content. Its QD-OLED panel provides a perfect contrast ratio, with no distracting blooming around bright objects, and its colors are incredibly vibrant and realistic. It gets extremely bright, so highlights in HDR stand out well, and with its fantastic reflection handling, it can easily overcome glare in a bright room. Unfortunately, it doesn't support Dolby Vision HDR; it instead supports HDR10+, a similar, albeit not as widespread, HDR format. While Sony is famously coy about quoting specification ‘numbers’ for its TVs, TCL has no such inhibitions, proudly declaring that it believes the 65C845K to be capable of delivering 2000 nits of brightness. This is a remarkable claim in a TV world where we would expect similarly priced TVs to struggle to hit even a quarter of that brightness. Most TVs costing even thousands of pounds more won’t give you quite as much HDR-friendly brightness as TCL is claiming here.

Perhaps as a result of TCL’s efforts to keep the clouding so faint and vague, though, it can sometimes spread further away from the edges of a particularly bright object than we might have anticipated from a TV that has 576 dimming zones at its disposal. Having said that, the resulting sometimes slightly misty-looking pictures are far less likely to distract you than smaller but brighter and more defined areas of blooming would. The TCL 65P639K features it, allowing you to display images or videos on the TV when it’s not in use. You can choose from various pre-loaded images or videos or upload your own to create a personalized display. Ambient Mode can also display useful information such as the weather, time, and news headlines, making it a useful feature. The concept of a "big-screen TV" has changed a lot over the years. It used to be that anything larger than 40 inches was huge and 65-inch models were the absolute peak size for flat panels. Those days are gone, and we're fully immersed in an era of absolutely massive TVs. If you want to hit or even exceed 65 inches on your next TV, we're here to show you what to buy and how. Experience colors that come alive with TCL 65 Inch TVs. Our advanced technology enhances color accuracy and contrast, ensuring that every hue is vibrant and captivating. From the subtlest tones to the brightest highlights, our TVs deliver visuals that are breathtakingly vivid. In terms of design, the TV’s designed in a new way to hide your cables and the nearly bezel-less design of the TV is fairly versatile. The legs of the TV can either be placed close together to fit on a smaller table or stand, or can be attached to the outside corners of the TV to give it some more stability.

Even cheaper models have been benefitting from the latest panel technologies, with new 5 Series QLED and 6 Series QLED TVs, ensuring that TCL’s cheaper offerings are able to stand out in a crowded market.
