About this deal

I found this story very moving and I really loved the main character and all the characters are well drawn. The author tells a very engrossing story.

Now, light travels at a rough speed of 300,000 kilometers per second in a vacuum (in the absence of a medium). That is, light possesses speed of its own and, therefore, physical properties of its own. Furthermore, we can produce light because light has a source from which it originates. This makes light an independent physical entity. Internal logic would dictate that in the process of becoming non-autistic, he would find that the one dream that he had as an autistic person would be forever beyond his reach, because that dream was a product of his autistic mind. But most of the characters are wonderfully complex too. The head of Lou's department has some internalised guilt for abandoning his own low-functioning autistic brother to a full-time adult care facility which he assuages partly by his work with Lou and other high-functioning autistic employees.

All the interventions, all the training, were like software designed to make a bad computer work right. It never does, and neither did I." If you expand the concept of dark, however, it may appear that the dark has a speed all its own. Consider a dark spot in a beam of light, which might be created by placing a piece of cloth or other object over part of the light source. While this dark spot might not meet strict criteria for total darkness, it travels at the same speed as the rest of the non-obstructed light [source: University of Illinois]. This same speed of darkness holds true if you equate darkness to how long it takes for the light to go away when the power is switched off -- again, the speed of dark in this case is equal to the speed of light. For some reason I couldn't like this book. The good things about it was the main character and how his autism was portrayed, but other than that, it just bothered me. Elizabeth Moon was born March 7, 1945, and grew up in McAllen, Texas, graduating from McAllen High School in 1963. She has a B.A. in History from Rice University (1968) and another in Biology from the University of Texas at Austin (1975) with graduate work in Biology at the University of Texas, San Antonio. When it comes to using your fog lights, don’t be tempted to turn them on unless you really need them. When is that? If visibility falls to 100 metres or less (roughly the length of a football pitch), it’s time to hit the switch. If you’re tired, take a break This is an illusion that darkness travels faster than the speed of light, and it is still agreed that no physical object can travel faster — since darkness has no mass.
