About this deal

I've not done any blind tasting yet to really put this to the test, but my opinion at this point is that most people who're considering either the Oracle Touch or the Barista Touch Impress, probably wouldn't quite have a sensitive enough coffee palate to be able to tell the difference. If you’re someone who prefers their coffee served with milk, then your next coffee machine really should be equipped with a built-in milk frother. You can buy standalone milk frothers that both heat and froth the milk, but these are markedly inferior to the built-in milk frothers found on the machines recommended here. While a machine with a fully manual steam wand will give the best results once you get the hang of it, there are plenty of automatic and semi-automatic alternatives that can serve up beautifully steamed, frothy milk at the touch of a button.

So, either just before the warranty ends, or not long after, if you give it a once over or get someone to do that for you, and then just have this done on a yearly basis (maybe sooner, depending on how much use the machine gets) this should prevent any real issues from developing. What are they? These are traditional espresso machines with a level of assistance that makes them ultra-convenient and user-friendly. This gives you a lot of control over the shot and makes it possible to pull different shots to the usual zero or short preinfusion and a 25-30 second shot time. Either that, or you just really enjoy reading my stuff and you can't close this post ;-), and if that's the case, excellent. Small things I have been trying to decide what to do since my DeLonghi Magnifica ESAM 4200 stopped working a few months ago. I’ve had it for years and it was great, very convenient. Coffee was ok, but results were always variable and never amazing. Even so, it was still better than the coffee bags and instant that I have been drinking since it stopped working and I really miss having an espresso machine. The Sage dual boiler, for me, is one of the most capable yet one of the most underrated espresso machines currently available in the UK. Why this is, well there are probably a few reasons, but I think the main things are:

Who are they for? As with integrated grinder espresso machines, this kind of machine is best suited to people who want to develop home barista skills. You can reduce the skill requirement by using the dual walled baskets they all come with as well as the traditional baskets, but if you don't want a learning curve, you'd be much better looking at the assisted machines.Programmable volumetric shot buttons (toggle between timed and volumetric via the LCD) | In theory, this gives you better shot repeatability Read on and we’ll explain which types of coffee machine you can choose from and explain their pros and cons. Scroll past our buying guide and you’ll find a list of our favourite manual espresso, capsule and bean-to-cup coffee machines at a range of prices to suit any budget.

Another big difference, and not really a plus or minus either way as it's subjective, is that the Oracle and Oracle Touch double basket is a 21/22g basket, which is what I'd refer to as a triple shot. How to choose the best coffee machine with milk frother for you What kind of coffee machine should I buy? I've only used the machine for a few weeks, so I will talk about potential long-term issues later on in this post, but these are from research rather than from experience. The good news, in a way, is there's not much choice, and one is almost double the price of the other ;-), so if a machine like this is for you, it's going to be quite easy to figure out which is the best for you. Sage Barista Touch Impress Sage would have sent me a demo model, but buying one myself means I can use it and review it over a longer period of time, and also means I can do some modding, which I'm planning to feature in some future youtube videos and blog posts, but more on that shortly.

So I've ranted on about this machine for a while now, and you'll see that I'm very positive about it, I think it's an amazing machine, especially considering the price, but the question now is – is it for you? Both the ease of use and the sheer quality of the drinks it produces are impressive. The 4.3in touchscreen interface works brilliantly, and the user profiles automatically prioritise each user’s favourite drinks so that they’re just a tap away. There’s plenty of adjustability if you want it, but it can be a one-touch process if you don’t. Grinding slightly finer than I usually would (At the moment I'm using my Cranberry & Pomegranate blend, at approx grind size 7 on the Niche Zero, and I'd usually be at around 9 for this coffee) Some will say they look cheaper too than other dual boiler espresso machines – but then, they are ;-), and they don't look cheap to me, I've always really liked the look of Sage machines. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder I think they say. Don't have the budget for HX? (At least around 1k – 1200, including grinder, unless you go down the used route)? Single boiler. You can tweak the settings (grind size and ratio) to make something closer to true espresso, but the majority of home bean to cup machines don't quite produce “true” espresso that would cut the mustard for someone who's really into their espresso. It's often very difficult to try to use these kinds of beans with standard baskets, so people use the standard baskets because they hear they're the best, but what they're missing is they're only the best if you dial in, and you can only really do this with freshly roasted beans. Micro-foam milk texturing. Steam wand, powered by a dedicated boiler, delivers micro-foam texture of commercial machines that enhances flavor and is essential for creating latte art. If you're the kind of coffee lover who wants true espresso, and mega milk quality, but you don't want to have to do loads of learning and turn coffee into a hobby, instead you want the kind of user experience you'd have with a premium touch screen bean to cup coffee machine, then this new breed of coffee machine from Sage will be right up your street. To someone who hasn't caught the home barista bug, or to someone who doesn't even drink coffee, spending hundreds or even thousands on a coffee machine must seem very odd, I get that.
