About this deal

Elevn Council features plenty of great reprints. For example, there’s Asceticism, Swan Song, Elvish Piper, Heoric Intervention and even a great dual land in Rejuvenating Springs. The Hosts of Mordor‘s commander, Sauron, Lord of the Rings, lines out its two main strategies pretty well: reanimation and amass orcs. Orc Army creature for Corsair of Umbar; Grishnákh, Brash Instigator; Moria Scavenger; Saruman, the White Hand; Sauron, Lord of the Rings; Summons of Saruman; The Mouth of Sauron and Treason of Isengard. Pippin, Warden of Isengard can be especially useful thanks to its two abilities. Being able to create a Food token at any time makes it so that you can get them during your opponents’ turns, which would cause Merry, Warden of Isengard to trigger during that turn, somewhat bypassing its “this ability triggers only once each turn” rule. The second ability on Pippin can also be a massive game ender if you have enough creatures on the field. Finally, the last ability puts Gandalf on top of your library. He did always have a habit of disappearing at key moments, but we can get around this with a blink spell to return him to the battlefield. All in all, it’s a flavourful card which earns a spot on this list.

Traditional Foil Galadriel, Elven-Queen Traditional Foil Gandalf, Westward Voyager Foil-Etched Galadriel, Elven-Queen Display Commander Traditional Foil Frodo, Adventurous Hobbit Traditional Foil Sam, Loyal Attendant Foil-Etched Frodo, Adventurous Hobbit Display Commander The following two options are Círdan the Shipwright and Elrond of the White Council. They both have secret council abilities that can be fun for political gameplay. Elrond of the White Council in particular can be super fun to play at the right time. If I happen to go overly hard on a fan-favourite commander of yours or miss out some overly flavourful text or mechanic attached to a card, I’m sorry.

3. Sauron, the Dark Lord

Perhaps the handy little token markers will help our dearest incoming players with all the memory work?” Human Knight creature with trample and haste for Éowyn, Shieldmaiden; Forth Eorlingas!; Oath of Eorl and Riders of Rohan. Basically, all the new cards support either Food tokens or lifegain (or both) or bring some additional kind of value, usually related to generating or benefiting from tokens. In addition to an epic tabletop release, The Lord of the Rings: Tales of Middle-earth arrives on MTG Arena June 20! From the One Ring and the temptation it offers to the story beats and characters we love in The Lord of the Rings, this release brings the same tabletop- Magic-meets-Middle-earth adventure to your PC and mobile phone.

Traditional Foil Éowyn, Shieldmaiden Traditional Foil Aragorn, King of Gondor Foil-Etched Éowyn, Shieldmaiden Display Commander Then, if you have six or more humans, you’re also drawing a card for your troubles. Eowyn brings you halfway to this total; by casting her alone you’ll have three humans by the end of the turn. Repeat this next turnand you’ve already hit six. In addition to our June 23 release, we have a little more in store for The Lord of the Rings: Tales of Middle-earth this year. Arriving November 3, some exciting additions that share more from The Lord of Rings include:The way I upgrade the precon changes heavily between the LOTR-only upgrade section and the regular upgrade section: the LOTR-only section will enhance our Elf theme without much enhancing Politics because there's no real political cards to add from the main set. The regular upgrade section will instead focus on both Politics and Elf themes. Sauron is a highly expensive commander at a mana value of eight. This means you’re probably gonna be casting it only a couple of times each game, but the card itself is designed to make each of those plays worthwhile. The second this card hits the battlefield you amass 5, then you self-mill five and return a creature from your graveyard to the battlefield. All of this on a 9/9 body with trample that can make the Ring tempt you. MAGIC MEETS THE LORD OF THE RINGS—Experience the beloved story of The Lord of the Rings with the strategic gameplay of Magic: The Gathering, facing off against opponents in thrilling magical battles Treasure artifact for Cavern-Hoard Dragon; Erestor of the Council; Gimli of the Glittering Caves; Prosperous Innkeeper; Shiny Impetus; Song of Eärendil; The Balrog of Moria and Tireless Provisioner. In short: the goal is to not be the archenemy at the table and instead work with the other players to take out other threats -- all while you're setting up to snag victory once your opponents have wasted their resources!

In terms of value, I think Elven Council does pretty alright. I doubt Círdan the Shipwright will keep such a high price for long, but I’d bet it’ll still hold some value. Heroic Intervention and Swan Song are amazing cards to have in a precon.EPIC MULTIPLAYER BATTLES—Commander is a multiplayer way to play Magic, an epic, free-for-all battle full of strategic plays and social intrigue Scenes range from two by two cards, as seen above, up to six by three cards—an epic 18 cards to show an epic scene at that scale—and there are seven total scenes available in June, five of which appear in The Lord of the Rings: Tales of Middle-earth Draft and Set Boosters, with all seven appearing in Collector Boosters. (The scene above is available in Bundle and Bundle: Gift Edition as well as Collector Boosters and gives you a taste of what to expect.)

Cards printed in The Lord of the Rings: Tales of Middle-Earth, and therefore having that set symbol and code, are: The card is insanely strong, but that’s thankfully balanced by the fact that it costs a whooping eight mana. But for that mana you get a 9/9 with trample, and it has an additional effect that utilizes the Ring tempts you mechanic. card draw; Galadriel, Elven-Queen (lol), Erestor of the Council, Legolas Greenleaf, Cirdan the Shipwright, Gandalf, Westward Voyager, Plea for Power, Lorien Revealed, Mystic Confluence, Mirror of Galadriel, Song of Earendil Food artifact for Butterbur, Bree Innkeeper; Farmer Cotton; Field-Tested Frying Pan; Generous Ent; Gilded Goose; Of Herbs and Stewed Rabbit; Orchard Strider; Pippin, Warden of Isengard; Rapacious Guest; Revive the Shire; Rosie Cotton of South Lane; Sam, Loyal Attendant; Savvy Hunter; Tireless Provisioner; Treebeard, Gracious Host and Voracious Fell Beast.

Since Saruman runs off non- Creature spells, your Orc Army could also benefit from the greatest Nike Air Force Ones (i.e. Swiftfoot Boots), alongside providing payoffs for rebuilding after a failed assault on enemy territory. Perhaps having friends like Storm-Kiln Artist, Goblin Electromancer and Archmage Emeritus could assist in our plans… Aragorn is, quite fittingly, bringing the monarch mechanic to the table. This mechanic is so powerful, that every card that can grant you becoming a monarch should be taken very seriously. Too far behind on resources? Nope. You spent your entire turn cleaning the board whilst your opponents have an entire turn cycle to rebuild. These four variant scene cards are included only in the Bundle and Bundle: Gift Edition (plus non-foil versions in Collector Boosters) and depict the pivotal moment before the One Ring was destroyed. You can see this scene in a two-by-two card grid, but other scenes exist in a range of grids all the way up to six by three cards—worthy of showing an epic scene! Human Soldier creature for Faramir, Steward of Gondor; Lossarnach Captain; Oath of Eorl and Prince Imrahil the Fair.
