She led her forces in a series of successful engagements that asserted her command and consolidated her rule. Eventually, the British sent an army to recapture Jhansi. When they demanded her surrender, she responded with a proclamation stating: “ We fight for independence. In the words of Lord Krishna, we will if we are victorious, enjoy the fruits of victory, if defeated and killed on the field of battle, we shall surely earn eternal glory and salvation.” Her name remained greatly unknown, until the battle of Ajnadin, not far from Jerusalem, where Drear lost his spear, fell from his horse, and was taken prisoner. She donned a male knight's attire, took her arms and rode her mare through the Roman ranks, using her sword skillfully against whoever tried to stop her. The Muslim soldiers, and their leader Khalid, watched her with great admiration, presuming that she was a man.

The Romans lost the battle and fled, leaving many dead and wounded on the battlefield. Khalid looked for the unknown soldier until he found him. The soldier was covered in blood. Khalid praised his bravery and asked him to uncover his face. But the soldier did not respond and tried to leave. The rest of the soldiers would not let him go.

As far as I have heard, she partook in many battles and fought against disbelievers. However, when I looked into it, I came to know that her story comes through Al-Waqidi, a well-known liar, as mentioned by many scholars, so I wanted to ask if her story comes from another route or if it’s authentic. In so doing, she won a momentous victory that repulsed an English attempt to conquer France.
